Todd M. Kerstetter invites you and your students to attend “Living—and Dying—With the Elkhorn River: An Illustrated History” at the Elkhorn Valley Museum on Saturday, April 21, at 2:00 p.m.
The presentation is part of the Museum’s Cabin Fever speaker series and will serve as the launch for his forthcoming book, "Flood on the Tracks: Living, Dying, and the Nature of Disaster in the Elkhorn River Basin" (TTU Press). Using Plains Indian winter counts (pictorial calendars/hist...ories), postcards, photographs, newspaper accounts, government records, and more, the presentation will chronicle the basin’s natural and human history from the mid-1800s into the twenty-first century.
The Museum is located at 515 Queen City Boulevard in Norfolk and the presentation is included in the price of admission ($6 adults; $5 seniors; $3 students 3-18). I’d be happy to meet with teachers and students after the presentation to answer questions about the project and to discuss historical research, writing, and publication.
