TYT contributor Ryan Grim shares the behind-the-scenes story of the Rob Porter domestic abuse story he helped break for The Intercept, a scandal and an apparent coverup that continues to roil the Trump White House.

When Grim saw that the White House was making moves to protect Porter, he emailed Sarah Huckabee Sanders to let her know that he had more information, including the photos. After back-and-forth with the White House communications team, Grim published the photos of ...Holderness with the black eye touching off a series of misleading defenses and denials.

The tweet that made the White House "fully aware" they were not going to sweep this under the rug: https://twitter.com/ryangrim/status/961130828804902913…

The U.S Civil War nearly came in 1850, when President Zachary Taylor threatened to execute future secessionists, including his son-in-law Jefferson Davis, and crush the nascent slave holders' rebellion. If he hadn't died in office, would this former general and war hero have been able to end slavery without a civil war?

TYT contributor Ryan Grim sits down with author and historian Sidney Blumenthal, author of two seminal books about Abraham Lincoln, "Wrestling With His Angel" & "A Self-made Man."

Ryan Grim's reporting with Alleen Brown for The Intercept on the Rob Porter's history of domestic abuse pushed the Trump White House into freefall a week ago, and the death spiral continued today.

Here Grim talks about the tip he received, and his communication with Porter's two ex-wives, Colbie Holderness and Jennifer Willoughby. Grim explains that Holderness decided to allow him to pubish the infamous photos of her bruised face because she didn't want Willoughby to go it ...alone.

"Divest Trump Soho" began as an online petition and grassroots campaign to prevent public pension funds from being invested in ways that illegally enrich President Trump. Within in a few months, the effort had gotten the Trump Organization fired, and the president's name removed from a Manhattan property that had been known as Trump SoHo.

Shanna Cleveland, senior counsel for Free Speech For People, explains to TYT's Eric Byler (http://Twitter.com/EricByler) why federal investigations into money laundering put Trump's properties in danger of being confiscated by the government.

Trump's Department of Health and Human Services just signed off on letting Indiana impose work requirements on Medicaid there. The move came four days after new HHS Secretary Alex Azar was sworn in. And three months after Azar left the board of a company that makes money helping states—including Indiana—cut Medicaid costs. The company, it turns out, is interested in helping states impose Medicaid work requirements. Indiana expects some 33,000 people to lose their Medicaid cov...erage. More details—including HHS's full statement—in our story.
