I have always loved this toy store since I was a little kid. It has the most extensive selection of every toy, book, bike, train, and collectible you can think of. I urge you to come and support this ...amazing store! Bring your kids and have story time, play in the play structure near the giraffe, or find that first bike your kid is dreaming of. It's even a fun place for adults to satisfy their nostalgia. Such a fun store! See More

My 5 year old is a big trainaic. For his birthday we purchased a used HO scale model train set. Both me and dad have no idea about trains and found that there were issues with the set we got on ebay. ...I took a few pieces to Talbots's and Keith and Nathan fixed us right up. They even tested and troubleshoot a part of the train that I didn't even know lit up. Both were an amazing source of information. Now I feel more comfortable with the track and train and there's a very happy trainaic that got his birthday wish. See More

Beautiful store with well curated toy and book selection. Filled with the kind of toys that last and will be passed down from kid to kid and parent to child. A very special store.

Been to this place many times, from the time my son was a little toddler. Now he is 12 years old and still loves to visit this place. Lots of model trains.

Please please buy some of your toys here and not Amazon. It would be so sad if the kids didn't have a real toy store to play in and real Mom and Pop owners.

I already know their Bike Dept's great customer service. Now, I know their namesake store, Toyland, is just as great with its customers!! Bought a kite and spool for my kids. During flight, the han...dles on the spool came off and the kite flew away leaving my kids with a messed up spool. Went to Talbot's the next day and explained what happened. The staff was all too happy to replace the items...all the while with a smile and no hassle!!! They have definitely earned a life long customer...our kids included! There's a reason why a neighborhood 'mulit-generational' toystore can last so long!! See More

This is the best toy store around! You can find any type of toy, hobby, bike, doll, etc. It feels good to support a local business, too. Free gift wrap of the presents you buy. They assemble bikes.../toys/easels/etc (hallelujah!). Excellent customer service! See More

Goodbye Talbot’s – We were looking forward to a long and special relationship as our baby girls grew up but you broke our hearts!

Even though your prices are higher than most for many years we came t...o your store anyway. Before I was married every birthday and Xmas I would buy Talbot’s gifts for my nieces and nephews. Before I had kids I bought my Specialized Enduro Comp bike ($2000) from Talbot’s. And I even sent my coworkers from Beijing to you to rent bicycles from Talbot’s while they were here. And since my daughter was 6 months old (3.5 now) we would come and play at the train tables, play houses ands mini kitchen - and I almost always left with at least a small purchase. We even bought all her physical and occupational therapy toys and activities from Talbot’s. We would come pay your higher prices because I wanted to support a local store and because the employees are knowledgeable and friendly. But when “friendly employees” turns to “insulting employees” there is no longer a reason stay away from the cheaper prices and larger selections of Toys-R-Us, Amazon, etc.
It was a senseless incident that could have been easily remedied – I gave ample opportunity by assuming it was a joke but instead the disrespect was reconfirmed.

Here’s what happened.
Last Christmas season my wife, 2 baby girls and teenage niece were at Talbot’s finalizing our Christmas gift selections. A $100 dollhouse for our oldest and a set or two of furniture (~$50), a $45 interactive toy for our baby and maybe some interactive books, etc. We had already bought gifts for my nieces and nephews; Three remote control cars, a couple of “Dress-Me” dolls, and a few other things I had already shipped off. All total approaching $500. And finally, I needed a scooter for my daughter to help with her physical therapy, either a small scooter for her or one my size on which she could ride with me (a $199 scooter or the $230 scooter) – I couldn’t decide because she is small and the sizing is difficult so I asked Steve if I could see one of them (they are zip-tied to a head high shelf and I had previously looked at the other one). Steve said “Yea, you can ‘see’ them” and as he walked away I laughed and played along with his joke about “I can see them.” I assumed he was still helping another customer and would come back to help me. After a while I looked at my family and said “he WAS joking right?” They seemed a little nervous but laughed it off. As Steve came back my way I was relieved and smiled but he turned away again. I said “excuse me” (nicely – still assuming a joke/misunderstanding) but he ignored me. I looked at my family and left to go talk to Steve. When he finished with a customer I said “You were joking right? I do want to take a look at the scooter.” Steve said, “No, I wasn’t joking. You have looked at the scooter before.”

Well needless to say we left pretty sad. I haven’t been back since and I have spent well over $2000 at Toys-R-Us, Diddim’s, and online. I need a new bike and both my daughters need bikes as well. This is money and time I would much rather have spent at a local store while browsing with my girls. Willing to pay more for the experience and memories. It is just not the same - taking my girls to those other places but then those places have never been even slightly rude or disrespectful to me. So good bye, Talbot’s.

Note: I waited a year to write this because friends of mine were employed at Talbot’s at the time of the incident. I didn’t want to make things difficult for them by association and as it turns out (so I was told) Steve is the owner.
