This morning my tapestry "Listen to the Tree" started its long journey to the American Embassy in Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. Two men and a big truck from the art shipping company, Atelier 4 Inc. in New York came and packed it up and loaded it onto the truck. The guys have been criss-crossing the country picking up artwork for different Embassies around the world to be shipped out of New York.
My tapestry "A New Day" ( 68" x 84") has been selected by Blue Line Arts' Gallery in Roseville, CA (Sacramento) to be part in the exhibit "By Hand". There were 142 artists who submitted over 500 pieces. Opening reception is on January 20, 2018.
This is the first progress photo of the second tapestry in my stone series. The first image is the water color design and the second the actual tapestry. This tapestry will measure 126 cm high x 205 cm wide when finished.

(Top secret = Christmas gifts).
With some warp leftover from my latest tapestry and some extra time, I decided to weave my 10 years old granddaughter's artwork. The first is "Puppy Love" by Elly Leander and the second is "Kissing Fish" by Emma Leander.
I just started the most difficult tapestry ever. There are 832 threads in the warp and that makes it possible to really get the details good. It doesn't have a name yet and measures 126 cm high and 205 cm wide. This will keep me weaving for many month to come and I'll post progress photos periodically. (The first image is the watercolor design).
