The officers and staff of the Terrell County Sheriff's Department held a community food drive during the entire month of December 2014. All of the collected food was delivered to the Robert Albritten Neighborhood Service Center's food pantry on Tuesday, December 30, 2014. Over 3,500 non-perishable food items were donated to the food pantry.
Come on out today to the Terrell County Courthouse Annex with your donation of non-perishable food for the Sheriff's "Fill the Hummer" food drive for our local food bank
This was the first Christmas Parade for our community in about 15 years. The parade was bright and full of Christmas colors and the crowd was fantastic!
Congratulations to the following for winning special awards in the 2014 Dawson / Terrell County Christmas Parade: Best Overall Entry - The Terrell County Marching Band; Most Original Entry - The Terrell County 4H Club; The Best Decorations - Lanoris Kinnel Learning Center; Best Performance - The CMAC (Children Making a Change) Drill Team. All of the entries were amazing! We have heard so many compliments from the community. Thanks to everyone that helped to support the parade.... We wish to express a special THANK YOU to: Everyone at the Dawson City Hall and all of the City Employees, Pam Rogers of the Warehouse, the Dawson Fire Department, Chief Whitehead and the officers of Dawson Public Safety, Steve Highsmith and Mr. Richard Guagliardo. The Christmas Parade Planning Committee was the New Terrell team (Martha Ann Coe, Jodi Jacobs, and Margaret Halbrook).

Get Ready - The Christmas Parade is coming back to Dawson, GA! Plan to come see the Parade in Dawson Saturday, December 13 at 6:00 pm. We want this to be AWESOME, so get your group together and be a part of the parade. The $25 entry fee will go toward prizes for the best entries. You can get a registration form from: Terrell County Chamber of Commerce, Dawson City Hall, Dawson Public Safety, Terrell County Sheriff's Department, Terrell County Zoning office or SOWEGA Rentals on Main Street in Dawson.
