I was asked to provide some sample policy as technology itself is not a panacea:

As a note, all below policy is subject to change based on the input of scientific experts.

A) Fully fund education - let's provide our children with the skills to think critically, evaluate data, and separate truth from fiction. Additionally, increase teacher salaries so that talented teachers are drawn to the profession. Focus on active learning and sparking curiosity rather than passing tests. ...Croatia has a great higher education system - if you pass your classes, they are free (up to age 28). Would this work in America?

B) Publish all data - Any research that is performed with the public's money should be published in full, including raw data.

C) Reduce military spending by 1.6%; increase science/educational spending the same amount - The return on investment by NASA is outstanding. Currently the US is over spending on our NATO requirement, 1.6% above the required NATO 2% GDP level. Shift this excess money to NASA and other science based investments. Demand that our allies spend their required 2% and reduce our spending to that level. Demand that the UN and our allies moves swiftly and with force when war crimes and genocide are committed. We cannot continue to pay the cost of being the world police.

Southern Storms

This image shows Jupiter’s south pole, as seen by NASA’s Juno spacecraft from an altitude of 32,000 miles (52,000 kilometers). The oval feature...s are cyclones, up to 600 miles (1,000 kilometers) in diameter. Multiple images taken with the JunoCam instrument on three separate orbits were combined to show all areas in daylight, enhanced color, and stereographic projection.
