Rally for Ryon, raising money through a benefit lamb show July 29, 2017. Ryon, suffering from Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare cancer, is 19 months old.

"Texas' First Sheep Cheese," made by Veldhuizen Cheese Shoppe, is being sold at the high-end cheese shop, Scardello.

Veldhuizen uses Awassi sheep to produce their dairy products.

Harry Blome Jr., 81, of Stonington passed away at 800 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 in his home. He was born on August 16, 1935 in Stonington, the son of Harry Lincoln and Lula Simpson Blome. He married Mary E. Shipp on September 11, 1953 at the First Baptist

The Junior Show begins at 10 am. You can view it live with YouTube. Log into YouTube and search for Columbia Sheep Breeders. A separate viewing will be liste...d for the Junior Show. Following the Jr. Show, judge Lynn Frey, will evaluate the Production Rams and Ewes. This show can be viewed on line, too. At 3 PM the wool show begins and will be judged by Bob Padula. Watch for results for all these events on Facebook.
Other events for the day include the annual membership meeting at 5 pm and the host BBQ following the meeting.
