I have been to The Beastro for the brunch twice now. Both times the service and the food were fantastic.

The wait staff are friendly, professional, and very a...ttentive. They do everything they can to make your visit enjoyable. As for the food: The first time I got the biscuits and gravy. There were three biscuits placed on top of a sausage gravy. It comes with eggs and bacon. The eggs are to order along with a thick slab of bacon. The biscuits tasted just like my mom used to make and fully complimented the sausage gravy. This last time I ordered the rye orange cinnamon roll. Again with to order eggs and the thick bacon. The rye, cinnamon, and orange flavors of the roll really mixed well together.

It is a bit expensive (both of the meals are 15,000₩ without drinks), but it is well worth the price. I highly recommend it and am already trying to decide when I can go again.

Love this place! The quality is amazing! You can tell the chefs prepare each plate with the highest degree of care. Their brunch menu is very robust and diverse.... I enjoy their classics such as their southern fried chicken with mashed potatoes and pickeled onions. My fiancé and I always order their chicken buffalo mac n' cheese because we're cheese fanatics! Their drinks menu are well received as well. ^^ Overall, the Beastro is a wonderful restaurant offering a modern twist on American classics in a semi-fine dining atmosphere. Well done! See More

I have gone to the Beastro several times and I have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is classy, the staff is attentive, and the food is great and well-priced. The Beastro is easily one of my favorite restaurants in Seoul.

Had dinner today and it was insanely good. The salad was perfectly dressed, the mac and cheese was spot on, and the hanger steak was cooked perfectly. We will come back very soon.

We went on Saturday after making a reservation for 1130am when they open. We got there at 1125am and were told wait. We were finally seated at 1140am, 10 minute...s after our reservation and their opening time. It's not a huge difference but we have been waiting from 1030am so we expected them to seat us on time. When we got to our table, there was 1 table already seated and were enjoying their drinks. All other tables were empty so we didn't understand the reason for the delay.
We ordered the beastro breakfast, eggs benedict, and the pastrami hash. The eggs benedict said you get a choice between bacon or salmon. I chose the bacon. The bistro breakfast said it comes with a thick cut house cured bacon. My friend asked if he could change the thick cut to the same type of bacon, crispy American type, as my eggs benedict. We were told by the waitress that she wasn't sure if it was possible, she has to ask the kitchen. For a restaurant serving limited breakfast menu, this is a fairly easy question and we weren't sure what the waitress needed to ask. I then suggested that if that is not possible, can I switch my bacon on my eggs benedict with my friends thick cut bacon. All you need to do is switch those two different types of bacon. The waitress again said she did not know if this was possible and would need to check. We didn't understand why these simple things needed approval from the kitchen which then just slows down the service. It seems the waitresses don't have any authority. She came back 10 minutes later saying that it has been approved by the kitchen and my friend will get the same thin crispy American style bacon that I was getting on my eggs benedict. When we got our food, we were surprised to see that it was a thick pork belly on top of my eggs benedict and my friends breakfast. We asked the waitress if this was the thick cut bacon and she said no. This was the thinnest. It was basically a thick cut of samgyupsal. We have traveled in England and other places enough to understand that bacon in the UK is different from the US. This is why we checked to make sure it was the thin crispy american style bacon that we were getting.
Before we even ordered, as we had waited for an hour for the restaurant to open, we actually wanted other things from the menu available on their website such as the smoked salmon and avocado. When we got to the restaurant we didn't see this on the menu and were told that the menu changes by seasonally and is different from the website. If your menu has changed seasonally, shouldn't you update your website like other restaurants do? It shouldn't be that difficult. It's also not fair to misguide guests in thinking certain things were available online and the actual menu is quite different. The salad menus were very different too.
My friends Beastro breakfast came with a piece of toast. It also didn't come with any butter, or jam. Nothing else. just the toast on the side. When we asked for butter. It took them so long that all of us were finished with our meals by the time the butter came. The restaurant was still half empty and we didn't understand how it coud possibly take so long to get some butter. Shouldn't butter be readily available for breakfast? Shouldn't it have already been offered with the meal. Especially when you're paying 15,000 won.
The other person who ordered the beef pastrami hash had to return it as the poached egg wasn't actually poached but more soft boiled. The eggs weren't runny like it should be. They offered to change it and we got a new one finally and were offered a bloody mary on the house. The bloody mary lacked any salt so the compensation turned out to be more of a disaster. Even though the dish was called a beef pastrami hash, the portion for the tiny bits of beef pastrami was so small, it was totally not worth 16,000 won.
Our friend who ordered the green salad said her salad was good. For 13,000 won for green salad, that was the least they could do.
We would not be returning anytime soon and were completely dissapointed. Compared to the price of each item, the service was totally lacking even though the place wasn't even busy and they had just opened, the food was very average and they just didn't do anything right not to mention how tiny the portion was. Two eggs were the size of quail eggs.
When we finally left, we were surprised to find many people waiting outside the restaurant when inside, half the tables were empty.

I have been to the Beastro when I was in Seoul in September. It was an epic experience. Chef Chung himself made my table reservation, he personally greated us a...nd his staff welcomed us warmly.
The food was excellent, the variations magnificent. The fusion kitchen with strong American influence was very authentic. We even got invited for a special dessert created by the chef. This place is more then recommendable, it is a must go to when you are in Seoul!

First off, they have a great interior (feels like an American NYC restaurant with its simple, wall decor) and a view overlooking Hongdae park. My wife had the f...ried chicken platter with mashed potatoes and a biscuit and she loved it. I stole some off her plate and it was juicy and full of flavor. Surprisingly, it's not too oily. I had the hanger steak prepared medium and it was juicy and delicious! We also shared and enjoyed the chumichurri fries as an appetizer. At the end, the chef sent us two chocolate chip cookies hot off the oven, on the house! The kitchen staff and hostess were cordial and friendly and we are looking forward to visiting again! See More

I had a gimlet to drink - strong and delicious! Ordered the buffalo mac and cheese, and southern fried chicken platter and was not disappointed! Mac and cheese ...was creamy, just how i like it - plus a cheez it crumble on top! yum! Chicken was perfectly fried and juicy. Just the right amount of mashed potatoes to go with it, plus a biscuit. Had lunch here today and it was great! The food is awesome, there is so much attention to detail with everything that goes on your plate and into your drink. I ...had the good thyme cocktail and it had chard thyme in it! Oh and did I mention everything is prepared fresh in house, including the bread? And the service here is second to none; the staff are eager to help you, make suggestions and my friend and I even got a table side visit from the chef! I really can't wait until my next visit! Every dish was on point and the service was impeccable. Chef Chung asked how everything was. When we raved about the brandade pie he had the kitchen send up smoked salmon to sample. Great drinks and a memorable night listening to the rain up on the terrace...

We didnt make a reservation, so we happily sat at the bar to wait. We were seated an hour and 15 mins later at a table that had been empty since we arrived. The... service was seriously sub par, with the exception of the bartender, and the main dishes had either one jarring flavor or none. I wanted to love this place...
Pros: Fantasic drinks, beautifully made by a wonderfully nice bartender. The mac and cheese was great, but a little small for the price. Its supposed to be a side, but its priced like a main. The pork belly main was good.
Cons: Bland chicken, overly sour pork cheek with corn labeled as succotash. Bland potatoes. Strange service practices (if you have open tables, seat people. Dont make them wait to make the restaurant seem more popular)

I've eaten at a lot of restaurants in nyc and across the globe and I can tell you that beastro is a world class establishment. seasoned head chef that is classi...cally trained and doesn't cut corners. you can taste the difference in the ingredients and the sauces that he uses. you won't be disappointed. Having grown up in Montreal and doing some extensive travelling around the world (plus having a chef for a father), I've done my fair share of food tasting. Not...hing, however, compares to The Beastro, an American style bistro in the Hongdae district of Seoul. The food was so good that I couldn't even muster the energy to blog about this slice of heaven last night.

Everything at The Beastro is bought and made fresh, and it makes a difference. The flavours come alive and even though they seem so peculiar in theory on paper, they work magic in your mouth. Not to mention the staff is great. The manager came and spoke with everyone to make sure everything was going smoothly. Not once did I see Chung treat his staff unkindly, and I know the cooking business is not always a friendly one. In my books, this place is all around awesome. To think that this restaurant only opened up a few months ago is mind-boggling.
