Things were really happening in the music industry in the 1970's in Oklahoma. Remember this guy--George Nigh--who served as both the 17th and 22nd Governor of Oklahoma? Check out this letter written while he was Lieutenant Governor! #ShelterRecords #JimHalsey #MabeeCenter #LeonRussell #ChurchStudioArchive

A true Tulsa treasure. The owners are friendly and devoted to returning this landmark to its former glory. I expect great things!

Steve and Charlene were gracious enough to let a shy, music-loving 17 year old take some of her senior pictures in the main room years ago. Still one of my favorite experiences. The place oozes soul a...nd history from its walls, ceilings, and floors. It's a true landmark not just for Tulsa but for music in general. See More

My band made two records in that fabulous place, the last one ever while Steve and Charlene Ripley owned it. I have so many great memories in that room, and am glad it's owned by folks who care so muc...h about it's history and legacy. Would love to record there again someday. See More

The Church is an amazing landmark. I enjoy taking my traveling friends over there. I tell them about Leon and Rocky. Inside you can feel the history. I've enjoyed so many things there over the years. ...If you ever need a hand getting the word out I'm your gal.
I love you Church Studios.

I tend to get emotional about certain people and historic places and Leon Russell is one person I feel that way about and the church is one place that gives me goose bumps. The experience is hard for... me to explain but I hope some day you get to feel it as well! :-) See More

I can already tell it's gonna be a 5 star place. With all the love that's going into the Church Studio & surrounding projects, that will be a destination for anyone that is true to the love for Leon. (y)

Happy that a part of Tulsa history is alive and kicking again. There is a wonderful history here that needs to be told. Wear their soft t-shirt proudly but especially when I am out of town just spre...ading the word.... the gospel of The Church Studio is reborn ! See More

Having worked there multiple time, I can say this is one of the worst studios I've had to work in. The design is decades old and there is a huge flight of stairs to deal with to get in the front door.... Needs major work to meet ADA compliance. See More

I loved it loved seeing all the tributes the good people of Tulsa left there. Can't wait until they get it all fixed up so I can go in and hang out
Happy 46th anniversary to "The Concert for Bangladesh" which was held Sunday, August 1, 1971 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Formed by The Beatles lead guitarist George Harrison, the extraordinary performers he gathered included Ringo Starr, Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Billy Preston, Badfinger, and #LeonRussell. The event was the first benefit concert of such magnitude. We love our 3- album set donated to the archives of The Church Studio by former 97.5 KMOD DJ and #LeonLifer Stella Austin!
Time is running out. Free Church Key bottle opener with any order in July. #churchmerch
We are thrilled about the latest edition to the Church's archives. 50-piece song book collection! Here's a sneak peek (hold on!) #TulsaMusic #ShelterRecords
