Call for balanced, inclusive global education
[BANGKOK] Experts on education, meeting this month (5—6 July) in the Thai capital, acknowledged the urgent need to provide students with a curriculum that is balanced, inclusive and compatible with 21st century ideas.

Education could draw from the proposed four pillars to achieve a balanced and inclusive learning, experts say.

In partnership with the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) , ERF will deliver an intense 1.5 days high-level meeting in Bangkok. The Consultation Meeting carries a two-pronged objectives: 1) To make recommendations on young people’s development through balanced and inclusive education (Priority 2) in the context of the ever-increasing complexity of the Southeast Asian economic, socio-cultural, and political environment, developing teacher imbued with ASEAN ideals in building ASEAN community (Priority 7); and 2) To make proposals for principles, policies and practice for the delivery and uptake of balanced and inclusive education based on intraculturalism, transdisciplinarity, dialecticism and contextuality (ERF’s four pillars of balanced and inclusive education).

In partnership with the Nigerian Academy of Science (NAS), ERF will host a 1.5 days regional consultation in Lagos. This meeting will help draw upon the expertise of the invited experts from the African continent to enrich the regional evidence to policy makers with regards to implementing and embedding balanced and inclusive curriculum in educational institutions in the African setting.
