Back in 2001 I was an exchange student from the UK, and I fell in love with Tempe and its bars (Dos Gringos being a much missed favourite). After a lengthy spell without a visit, I came to Tempe on a ...whim in October 2016, met up with an old friend, and she suggested The Lodge. I’d never heard of it but whatever, because beer and burgers. I was instantly smitten. I got there a good 30 minutes ahead of time and enjoyed an incredibly well kept frosty IPA. It might have been two. Last October I visited Tempe again and after dropping my suitcase at the hotel in downtown (by the Sun Devil Stadium) my first point of call was The Lodge. Again I had a warm welcome, an absolute skinful of the most amazing “Pitchfork Pale” I believe it was called, and got chatting to whoever it was sat next to me about this game they were watching on the telly - baseball. It was the Cubs, apparently. During that trip I visited another 3x I reckon, and by the time I left (after all I had a flight to catch) I realised that The Lodge had cemented itself as one of my very favourite bars to have a drink in the world. What sets it apart is the bar itself. It’s a masterpiece and very American. Lots of taps, lots of screens, lots of space, and an almost fanatical approach to keeping the wood well-polished and welcoming. In the UK I have BrewDog in Cardiff, The Clachan in London, The Buccaneer in Tenby, and in the US I love The Green Russell in Denver, but this place is probably my favourite of the lot. I really love drinking here, I have no idea when I’ll be in Tempe again but when I am I’ll be back at The Lodge again, no doubt. The staff did not come and greet us to take our order until the game had already started. Then we were told 45 minutes for our food. It is now 4:09pm and we still do not have it. We were just told 20 ...more minutes. Very unacceptable. Staff was not very pleasant, I assume because it is busy but that is not our fault. We were also told "I guess I can do that for you" when asking for a Corona light bucket although the sign infront of the outer bar shows it as an option. See More

Showed up for a vikings game after Jared blew up the internet inviting people. Waited 30, minutes to sit. After finding a seat, we waited fifteen minutes for someone to bus the table. I adventually bu...ssed it myself. Twenty minutes later we ordered, it has now been, 86 minutes exactly and still no food. Asked if she could check on it since we were quoted 45 minutes. Was just told it would be another 25. Don't come here if your hungry wow. Hire some staff. See More

My friend is a regular at the lodge and brought me today & I had amazing food and beer for a great price! We had great service and Kenny, our server, made me feel so welcome and cared for! Love this place!

My wife introduced me to this place. Great food! I've had the wings, the bacon wrapped jalapenos, build your own burger and all great. Our company has now had several events here and they are great to... work with. The service has always been great and Justin is very accommodating. Looking forward to more visits! 5 stars for the green chili and tortillas, fantastic!
3 stars for The beef dip (extra charge for cheese?) As the flavorless meat killed the wonderful au jus.
2 stars for the gigantic, air hockey paddl...e sized onion rings, they're definitely not worth the upcharge.
3 stars for the canned beer selection.
2 stars for the draught beer selection.
3 stars for the friendly wait staff, but they seem to readily disappear at inopportune times.

I had very high hopes for this place, I'll give it one more chance if the owners care to contact me. Local comes first in my household and I'd love nothing more than to see this spot succeed.

First I got a text about not being able to have a reservation, so then we got there early, found a table, sat 20 min before I finally went and got drinks from the bar! Still after another hour and dri...nking our beers we never once got checked on! Such a dissapointment! See More

The Lodge is hands down one of my favorite places to go watch any sports events showing or for just hands down great food and their service is as top notch as everything else the place has to offer!! ...I love the whole staff but most importantly Kenny Barton & Chris always seem to go out of there way to make sure my crew and I have te best time possible, not only do they never mislead us, but they always have the best attitudes & presence even if you can tell things are a little hectic! I highly recommend this place to any and everyone anytime anyone asks for a great place to dine or just simply have a beer & a good time!! Thanks for all the good times guys! Can't wait to be back for our regular Sunday Football routine!! See More

Don’t go to The Lodge Sasquatch Kitchen. I forgot my debit card there (totally my bad) because we ended up paying with another card and the rest in cash. I go to pick up my debit card and they charged... me 5 bucks says I must have bought something else after. Why the fuck would I ask to CLOSE MY TAB , if I’m going to keep buying shit? Keep your 5 bucks. Must really need the money. She showed me a receipt with no detail of what I bought, just that it was 5 bucks. Wasn’t a holding fee, I know because I asked and she said no. I may have lost 5 bucks but I’ll make sure to get it back in the revenue this place deserves to lose. See More

I've been meaning to stop in and give this place a try for some time. Tonight was the night. I ordered nachos; I should've known when they came out about two minutes after I ordered them, that they we...re going to be cold. They also were minus the chicken I ordered.

I won't even mention the service. I'm assuming the dude was either under the weather or having a bad day, because no one is that bad.

Service was a bit slow took well over 40 minutes got our food 🥘 wait staff seemed to be short staffed bloody Mary's were mediocre as well as bottomless many Mimosas. Nice atmospher for Sunday footbal...l 🏈 not to crowded at opening. I'd go back and give it another chance See More

I used to love this place!! Until I was called weird for asking for cheese on the side by the manager Kenny! Who also tried to say I didn't pay after giving me my food!! Even McDonalds these days will... put cheese on the side!? Couldn't believe it!! Kenny also said "talk to whoever, I have my guys here" when I said I'll be speaking to his boss! Horrible, it's a Friday night on a 3 day weekend and their bar isn't even filled, wonder why! See More
