Great place to chill out with friends and listen to some good rock/alt./metal music. Not bad prices either and I genuinely have some awesome memories from this place. The majority of my good friends ...i met here. Only quarrels i have really are some of the bar staff can be very moody and rude acting like they really don't enjoy their job (but there's some equally lovely people behind the bar too) and dirty toilets with no hand dryers See More

Saw Bury Tomorrow last night and had such a fab time! Friendly door staff - doors opened and we were let in almost immediately, bubbly bar staff providing speedy service at the bar, drinks cheap and c...heerful (beer + metal music = the one).. A super intimate venue perfect for watching rather than moshing (but not so small that it panicked claustrophobics like myself) - had the best time! Ladies toilets were cleanish - after a few beers it didn’t matter too much to me at all! From previous reviews we kept our eyes on our beers but there didn’t seem to be anything to worry about - a great night with a great crowd! Would definitely come back again, thanks to those at the Met Lounge! See More

Use to be a good venue about 10 years ago but went downhill. People sneaking drugs in and spiking drinks I was spiked last Friday, An ambulance was almost called because of it. Music isn't what people... want to hear. It was a rock/metal club, that people enjoyed. Again the toilets never get fixed unless they get broken every time they open. I miss the old Met and so do alot of others. See More

Miss the whole point of it...nowhere for old school metal anywhere regularly...just a shame, ask for a song and get told we can't play that....whats the point of an alternative venue, when you can't lis...ten to alternative music ? See More

If you like live music and safe environment filled with beer in cans, boom!!! Be sure to ask for Steve personally as his customer personal customer service and is legendary. One day no doubt he'll wri...te a book. But I'll wait eagerly for the Netflix original movie. The dance floor needs some Mr Muscle to it's lustrous shine. See More

Supposedly a top live music venue! It might have been just bad luck but was NOT impressed by the music and the member of staff I had a run in with and was a complete dickhead turned out to be the own...er himself !! Will not be going back for more of the same !! See More

Could be some much better if they bothered with decent dj's playing music people actually want in the met. Drinks and service best in town, this review is for the dj's. Especially for this Alice girl,... never takes requests and literally plays country music! Empty dancefloor. See More

It's an okay small town England venue who had.the Mancunian Brassica Society, Cabbage in the house with a couple of okay support bands.

There isn't many of these small venues left. Shame its main of...fering is a host of Tribute bands but I suppose the owners are aware of its audience. See More

Excellent place for gigs, friendly staff, good drink selection, great atmosphere, the only bad thing about Met Lounge is the toilets, they are pretty bad even early on in the evening, more loo roll, h...and soap, fix the locks and a squirt of bleach would improve them, but still a good venue See More

I love the sweat lounge, it's a lovely intimate gig venue, good value and reasonable price on drinks too. Toilets are minging but maybe that adds to it!

I have always been a big fan of the Met Lounge and in particular their Sugar Club nights. Pre-settling down it was my weekly club of choice and still is but just not as frequent. Great music, great at...mosphere and great staff. I last went last Saturday and got a very warm welcome from the fella on the door. He remembered me from my past regular visits and greeted me. The same with the fella in the ticket office. The bar staff were great too. Cheers Steve you still run the best rocking club in town and pass on my thanks to the door guy. I wobbled home that night happy and smiling after a few too many 3VBs. :-) See More

Some like it, some don't. Personally, there's always a good atmosphere and it's a great venue to play at. A lot of good memories for me. There's something for everyone (depending on what the majority ...of punters want to listen to. So if you want a particular genre of music, bring a ton of people with you who want the same thing! Simples!) cheap booze is a bonus, too. Alternative venues are few and far between. Support it! See More

Toilet doors didn't lock, there are too many steps to the dancefloor and they didn't sell cocktails. You could get in wearing litterally anything and then to top it off it took them 3 hours to play ki...ngs of Leon !! See More

Saw The Smyths here twice. Great venue, with the kind of character I loved in all the decent indie/Rock/alternative clubs back in the 90s.

Now this could be interesting!!

A petition that has received almost 10,000 signatures wants the Government to introduce a 5p charge for plastic straws, similar to plastic carrier bags in shops, in the hope it would "force servers to only provide straws upon request and dramatically reduce waste".
