One of the most amazing behaviour transformations I ever seen. Even when cruely mistreated by humans, dogs can be taught to trust again with just a little love. Cation the dog is very loud. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssFwXle_zVs&feature=youtu.be

Hey Everyone! This week we are featuring our resident dog MICKEY. We called him MICKEY because if you look at his back he has a black patch which looks just like the cartoon character MICKEY MOUSE! MICKEY is Sunny's pup which we rescued from the streets of Tangier when many other dogs were poisoned! MICKEY loves living at the refuge and playing with all the other dogs. He is no trouble whatsoever and is a very well tempered dog. He may not be the smartest, strongest or most intelligent dog in the refuge but you see we love him as much as all the other dogs as he is so very special to us. We love you MICKEY MOUSE sooooooooooo much! X

This magpie has forgotten it's a bird! :D

Hey Everyone! This week we are featuring our resident dog SILVER! SILVER was rescued from Tangier and brought to the refuge with the intention of giving her to one of the neighbours as a shepherd dog, but SILVER never did leave the refuge! The reason being, SILVER is the most affectionate, loving dog at the refuge. She is the first one who comes running to greet you and of course our visitors, looking for a cuddle. Sometimes I honestly forget she is a dog, as she is also so very intelligent! You see, we couldn't let SILVER go to be a shepherd dog as she fills our refuge with so much love! We love you so much SILVER and we are so lucky to have you with us X

Just look at that face! :D

Today, in Nepal the celebration of Kukkur Tihaar is taking place. It is a hindu festival that celebrates dogs for their friendship and loyalty. Frankly we should celebrate all over the world for having such wonderful companions!

Good Afternoon everyone, Here are our latest snaps from the refuge :) May you all have a wonderful weekend

Hey Everyone! This week we are featuring our resident dog GOLDIE! You've guessed it - she is called GOLDIE because she has a gold coloured coat and her eyes sparkle like gold stars! Luckily GOLDIE was one of the survivors when the dogs near to our villa in Tangier were tragically posioned. She had just given birth to puppies so she was hidden in the bushes. GOLDIE is definately the caring mother figure of the refuge. As you can see from the second photo, she not only fed her puppies Leo, Frankie and Taffy but she also fed the 5 little orphaned puppies too. GOLDIE is such a wonderful, caring dog and we love her sooooooooo much! X

'SMILE FOR THE CAMERA GOLDIE!'
'GOLDIE fed the 5 orphaned puppies as well as her own x'
'GOLDIE loves being with Sunny enjoying the lovely scenery x'
'GOLDIE IS SUCH A BEAUTIFUL DOG X'

Everyone wants to be king of the castle :P

Adorable :)

Hey Everyone! This week we are featuring our resident dog DAISY! Tragically, DAISY's mum and dad were both poisoned when she was only 1 week old! We adopted DAISY and her brother and sisters and looked after them in our apartment until the refuge was ready. DAISY was the runt of the family. However, she is probably the most intelligent and now looking at the latest photo of her taken 2 weeks ago, she is probably one of the strongest dogs at the refuge. DAISY chain, we love you sooooooooo much! X

'Daisy is on the right! As you can see she was the runt, a lot smaller than her siblings x'
'What a cute little babe x'
'Daisy always made sure she was the most spoilt! x'
'Now look at DAISY! A strong, intelligent wonderful, loving dog!'

Hello I am writing you because I do not know what to do. I met a pu...ppy in the parking lot in Akchour. He was very scared and would not eat until I backed a dozen meter. I fed him and went on with my visit, until I turn around and I found him following me everywhere. He had a rope strangling him, I could not get close to him for about 45 minutes to take it out. I finally was able to touch him, and started trusting in me. I was able to take some tiques out of him, and the rope. He is very skinny and looked like he did not eat in ages. I fed him again, he went away to drink but came back. He kept following me, when we passed by construction workers, and inevitably one of them threw a stone on the puppy and the puppy left out of fear. I am from Rabat, I do not know anyone here, but I really really would like to help him. He probably does not eat enough, and I can only imagine what he went through given the mistrust he has for humans. I am just asking you for help because you are the only “structure” in the region. Is there anything we can do to help this puppy together? Thank you very much See More
