Termitomyces or Omajova. Wild mushrooms found only on active termite moulds after the first rains of the season. Can this be sign of more rain to come?

The kudu is probably the most sought-after trophy species for those who hunt in Africa today, whether it’s their first or their t...enth visit. This majestic animal just captures the imagination with its grace and beauty and for the fact that its elusive, shy nature makes for a challenging hunt on foot. The Greater Kudu is found from as far north as Ethiopia to the southernmost parts of the continent. To get close to them is no mean feat. No wonder hunters who come to Namibia for the first time look for this challenge, and hope against hope for success.

STORIES: King of the mountains
"I scanned the mountain, which by now sported all shades of grey and white in the blinding sun, making it extremely difficult to ...see zebra – believe it or not. My friend and I were lying next to a milk-bush, trying to use its limited shade for cover. ere was no wind and Old Spikes had no sympathy for us. I was still scanning the area for the stallion when he suddenly appeared from behind a bush and joined the other two again. Whispering, I pointed to the position of the stallion."

Tiefenbach, garden and rooms. Summer is a time to enjoy this.

The kudu population in Namibia has decreased in the last few years due to rabies. When one gets the chance to see them like this, you have so much to be thankful for.

If you don’t come for hunting, then come and experience our wide variety of birds at Tiefenbach.
