Will You Help?
Teach children the beauty of music and music will teach them the beauty of life. – Dr. Abreu
Music has the power to enrich our lives. Sistema Toronto harnesses that power to develop each child’s full potential. By immersing our children in the universal language of music, we show them how to build bridges and tear down walls. We are improving the lives of our children, and your support will help us to produce engaged, fulfilled citizens. - Sistema Toronto

Maya Angelou

I am grateful that love exists: familial love, (love between relatives), romantic love (a passion between lovers), agape love (divine love between God and frien...ds), love of nature (the majesty of mountains, the lasting love of oceans) and the joy of laughter. We are stronger, kinder and more generous because we live in an atmosphere where love exists. I am grateful for that.

The Last Chapter

The Last Chapter (working title) chronicles the last 30 days in the history of The Toronto Women's Bookstore. While the documentary offers a real-time account o...f the activities leading to the bookstore’s closing, it also takes us back in time to explore the role played by the TWB in the city’s feminist movement for the past 39 years. The vivid testimonies of authors, veteran feminist activists and former staff make us relive the most significant moments in the tumultuous history of the bookstore: the firebombing, the palestinian controversy, etc. But in the end, the movie invites us all to reflect on the state of feminism in modern time. What does it mean to be a feminist in 2012? Is the last chapter of the TWB also the last breath of feminism in the city?

We're here until 7:00 p.m. and hope you can stop by for a visit.

We leave you with one of our Latin American sister's quotes, "I can promise you that women working together - linked, informed and educated - can bring peace and prosperity to this forsaken planet." Isabel Allende

Thank you TWB for all that you represent. It's been an honour!
