Over the past few days I have been taking onboard what has been happening, the murder of George Floyd by a white man kneeling on his neck, the protests seen and heard around the world.
I’ve always thought it was enough to just not be racist. It isn’t. As a white women I benefit from my white privilege.
I have been looking back over all the Tough Girl Podcast episodes and I have not done enough to share the stories of Black women, and women of colour. This is my fault and I ...take full ownership for the lack of diversity.
I have done everyone who listens a disservice and although I’ve amplified the voices of women of different ages, abilities and sizes, I have continued to shine the light on white women in the adventure, challenge and outdoor space.
Words are not enough - actions have to be taken to make change happen.
Actions I have taken
