A must watch for all parents and teens highlighting the dangers faced when meeting 'people' online. This is what happened to Kayleigh Haywood who was just 15. Please share.
To all the amazing Dads.
As another year of life comes to a close, it's a good time to reflect about what the last 12 months has brung. We will have 2 new additions to our family in thi...s photo soon.
I can imagine the outrage I'm going to get from this post, but we are all entitled to our opinion. So here it is.
Being a dad is an absolute gift.
Someone else, with genetically less strength than you carries your child in her body for most of a year. In this case, Hayley was carrying 2 children. Hormonally and physically she changes. Permanently.
What happens to your body? Nothing...
She then feeds, carries and cares for this precious gift until one day it decides that it just likes you better.
Be grateful for that gift and the massive sacrifice that the mother has undergone for you. Be good to that gift. Be good to the giver. Don’t ever take either for granted.
Is it fair? Hell no. It’s not fair. But you can make it fair. Share the load and give her time to find herself again because at the moment every moment of energy is being offered to your children and nothing for herself.
Us dads should be aware of what our women have gone through. Just look at that little lady… so much power. So much has happened to that body since you met her.
If you have a daughter it’s easier to see. One day, your carefree, beautiful little girl is going to fall for the promises of a boy. She’s going to change herself and her body so much to carry their child.
Would you want that boy to come home after a day of work and expect everything to be done for him?
I guarantee I will get a lot of different opinions on this, but that's okay.
This is mine.
I tell you what I’d expect. I’d expect that little shit to come home from work and be a dad. Take the pressure off my daughter. Care for the kids, change the nappies, bath, play, make dinner, feed and clean up.
When he’s finished cleaning up, he spends some time with her, detangling her internal stresses. clearing her worry. Making sure she realises she’s important. Reassure her that the constant barrage of “I’m not good enough” is just hormonal. She is good enough. We are good enough. We created this family together and we will build it together.
This isn't to say that the children are his sole responsibility, but should be 50/50. They were created that way, so should be cared for that way.
I'm lucky I have 3 boys, 2 of them being twins and I'll be damned if they are going to grow up the same as half of society these days, If you’re the breadwinner, come home and bloody well help your wife. Your life at work is a helluva lot easier than your life at home. You’re at least appreciated for something.
If you’re not the breadwinner, you better make sure your contribution to the family is so much more than your wife’s. If you’re one of these husboys who plays Xbox or lego and goes out drinking with the boys every weekend or find any excuse to leave the house to escape the children then its time to man up because your wife is actually your mother.
Set the standard for the type of husband you want your daughter to have. The type of father you want to raise your daughters children.
The same goes for your sons, show them how to treat women, how to respect them and appreciate the miracle they provide you everyday.
You were given a priceless gift through the sacrifice of your partner and zero contribution from you.
There’s a reason for this.
Be that Reason.
This was inspired by a post I saw from another dad and I felt it's something that should be said.
Society as it is needs to change.
If your a dad out there that does your part and supports, protects and contributes to your family.
Your doing a damn good job.
And to the mums, I take my hat off to you.
We appreciate you.
