Hated High Level. Lived there from 84-90. Worst place in Canada as far as I'm concerned. Place is a dump. Stop, get gas, and drive on through.

I fell in love with High Level Thirty-three years ago and could never leave. There have been some amazing people put their heart and soul into making High Level a great place to live! The town helpe...d me raise to wonderful children, who were involved in more activities than one could imagine for such a small town. The volunteers and businesses are next to none!! Theta are amazing individuals who pour everything they have into our community! So many people through the years have stepped forward and raised money to build things like the pool, organize groups such as cadets, coach sports like soccer, hockey, swimming and the list goes on! Businesses have supported all causes and more! To every person who has contributed to making our High Level...thank you!!! See More

Moved to High Level in 2000-2001. Hated it, told Danny I would only stay 1 year max.
When we finally left in 2010 (far longer than the origional plan), it was with a very heart and no shortage of t...ears.
We found good people that were willing to go that extra mile, teachers my girls absolutely loved. Skyla still talks to this day about her strictest and favourite teacher, Mrs. Rosenberger.
We found a small community that was willing to take in newcomers and give them a chance.
We made some of our most wonderful friends in High Level. People we could trust with our kids and who our kids cherished.
I loved and miss High Level quite often. It is a much quieter family orientated life. It is calm, people stop and say hi. It is very friendly the town does it's best to run as many family programs as possible.
Both love and miss High Level.

High Level is my home town. I remember going to the movie theater with my teenage friends. Hanging out @ Ethel's poor hall. As teenager everyone got along very well. There was no rasist @ all. I reall...y enjoyed my youth years in High Level. Back in the 70s High Level was a lot smaller than today. The deer glen & hospital area were all bush. It grown a lot in the last 40-50 years. Ivan at High Level Truck and Trailer is a gem. Super helpful and willing to help me out with my trailer setup when I needed some advice.

Great town, great people.

Why is it that the only form of communication they know in this town is extreme harassment. Sexual and physical by the owner of the Flamingo Hotel. Verbal and physical by others. And when you tell ...them to stop they do not and the police sanction it and support the harassment. They tell you they are all allowed to harass you. And when you are not from here, when you call the police for help they completely ignore you, but when the people from here call and lie about you the police are there in a second and support the abusers. Don't come to this town, you will be harassed and attacked. And the police will just say "It's their business they can do whatever they want". (Brian Smith). And "If you don't like it you should leave." See More

I first came to High Level for the summer in 1986, moved here in 1987, stayed until 1997, then moved back again in 2005. Something about the north that draws me back, good people!

Get your swim suits on and bring a towel and cool off from the summer heat cause the splash pad at Centennial Park is officially open! Washrooms and splash pad are open from 9am to 9pm daily.
It's still busy at the Canada Day Celebrations in Centennial Park. Festivities go until 4pm. Come on down!
We had some unique visitors last week as the Snowbirds Air Show stopped in at the High Level Airport! Pretty neat!
