sharing this in support of another great run in our area. they had a big last minute change and REALLY need volunteer zombies for the event. hour and a half of zombie gets you a free ticket to the after party AND you get to live out your walking dead fantasies.

bad news race fans. after some soul searching we've decided NOT to move forward with a race for 2016. we really enjoyed the event and appreciate everyone who participated during the last 3 years, but the ROI just wasn't there to justify continuing the race at this point. thanks for your participation and support of the RCC Foundation and Mount Airy Rotary Club's charities.

Jaybird is with Iron Cowboy and James Lawrence.

"I wanted to find my mental and physical limits, and I found those...and I busted through them" - Jaybird athlete James "Iron Cowboy" Lawrence

The 50/50/50 has ...been an unbelievable ride. 50 Ironman distance triathlons, in 50 states, in 50 consecutive days. James, you brought so many people together and rose awareness to a cause that you and many are passionate about. Congrats on finishing what many thought was impossible, it was nothing but epic!

WOW. just WOW!

There comes a point when an ultimate competitor wants to know what happens — what they’re made of — when push comes to shove, when the limits of what is possible are on the horizon.

want to encourage folks to come out early tomorrow (saturday) and see what Mount Airy has to offer. Just in downtown you have the Art Walk and the first annual chalk festival (chalk art) and then there's the great things that go on every day. Make the most of your visit!
