Triple Divide [REDACTED...] is said to be the only documentary of its kind on the controversial subject of fracking capable of speaking to all sides, with exclusive interviews from the industry, experts, and Americans suffering in the wake of shale gas development.
The film reveals how water contamination is being covered up by the industry and the state, essentially rewriting water quality history in the United States by dismissing predrill tests. Meanwhile, state regulators are using compliance as a means of regulating without enforcing the law, abandoning the public in the wake of shale gas development.
Academy Award nominated actor Mark Ruffalo co-narrates the film.

Triple Divide is back, with an updated 52min broadcast version "TRIPLE DIVIDE [REDACTED]" screening this weekend in North Carolina for the Real to Reel Film Festival (co-director Melissa Troutman will be present). Update on availability and distribution coming soon - stay tuned!
"Triple Divide [Redacted]" is a 'bombshell' documentary about the impact of fracking with exclusive interviews from oil and gas industry leaders, independent ex...perts and impacted residents. TRIPLE DIVIDE covers five years (2011 - 2016) of cradle-to-grave investigations by investigative news nonprofit Public Herald that featured how regulators and industry kept water contamination "off the books." Originally released as a 90-minute feature in 2013, this iteration of TRIPLE DIVIDE is Narrated by Mark Ruffalo and updated with Public Herald's continued investigations through 2016. "Triple Divide [Redacted]" will screen at 8pm on July 29th at the Real to Reel Film Festival in Kings Mountain, North Carolina.
From Director Joshua Pribanic: Coudersport Boro. (Home to the headwaters of the Allegheny River) will be holding their monthly meeting tonight at 6:30 - except, for this meeting, they plan to discuss building a fracking wastewater treatment plant in the town.
The main thing here is they don't have a public plan on the table to discuss how they will remove the radioactive contaminants from the wastewater and prevent them from being discharged to the sewage plant and back into... the river.
For instance, "measuring radioactivity in water is non-trivial. You can't wave a Geiger counter at it and expect an accurate result. You have to seal the water in a vessel and let it sit for 21 days to find out if there's radiation in the water" says Duquesne professor Dr. John Stolz. I have no indication that these precautions are being taken.
It is said the plant will distill the water in order to treat it, which raises additional questions since contaminants, that include radon, will be discharged into the air likely on a daily basis upwind of the school and town.
