Triple Rock Social Club's Post

Triple Rock Social Club

October 16, 2017  · Shared with Public
After 19 years of business, The Triple Rock will be closing after November 22nd.
We are proud to have been part of an amazing time in the Twin Cities Music scene. We have had more than our fair share of legendary performances and events, watched numerous local artists get their start on our stage, and hosted the Minneapolis debuts of countless national acts.
We want to thank all the customers, bands, and artists who have been a part of this place over the years.
Most of all we want to thank our current staff and those who have worked here in the past. We could not have done it without you!
We still have a lot of great events coming up, so come on down and celebrate The Triple Rock!

After Station 4 closed, the Triple Rock became my venue of choice and was a big part in the continuation of the Minnesota Metal Scene during that transitional period. This is very, very sad news. Minnesota keeps losing all of its best independent and historical clubs. It is a shame to see you added to that list.
I want to thank the amazing staff of the Triple Rock for being so amazingly cool work with every single time I did a show there. This list includes but is certainly not limited to: Tane, Erik, Dan, Pete and the illustrious Zartan.
Thank you Triple Rock for your contribution to the Minnesota music scene, you will be sorely missed!!!

If Minneapolis ever had a true center, it had been put on a trailer and moved to a different location by the end of any performance. The Triple Rock could move theoretical geographical coordinates. That's my story, stream-of-consciousness work of science-fiction history.
Outside and inside of that convoluted piece, I'm gonna miss the place.

Please tell me this is a sick joke? Been drinking, booking and playing there since it's inception. This is a major blow to the music community and everyone involved. I'm so sorry to hear this, as I'm sure many will be effected.

All of our beautiful authentic homes that we have loved. All of the beautiful history. Sure we can remember, but we'll never be the same without you. And the saddest part is most of these places just end up empty and useless or are turned into luxury apartments/ condos for a bigger and better yuppyville. Hearing this makes me sick to my stomach. I love you. Thank you for everything.

This is why there needs to be an unlike button. No damn way am I going to give this bit of information a thumbs up. I do NOT like this post. Not because I am making a judgment of the person posting it, but because its content is a punch to the nuts after having had them ripped off with a claw hammer. I will say thank you to the staff and owners who have provided us with a great venue these last 18 years. Thanks.

It's been a good run Erik Funk and Gretchen Funk and there's more than enough memories to share. You've been one of my favorite bars to work with through the Camel event days, PBR event days and hang out at -- basically living there for 4 or 5 years through my 20s and early 30s. I'll have to make sure that Joye Schmeling (come visit Joye!!) comes up to party on one last time.

So sorry to hear this. You've provided an amazing venue for Minneapolis ( although the old patio was kickass). You leave a gaping hole in our lil' music scene. Thanks for all the memories 🖤🎶.

Thanks for the good times guys - The bar, especially with fewer and fewer independent venues, will be seriously missed.
