We are a bit behind with our introductions of new officers but bette...r late than never. Please join us in welcoming quite a few new officers to the department and the Tukwila community. We are very proud to have been able to honor the men and women of the armed forces by extending job offers to 8 veterans over the past year which accounts for over half of the officers that we have hired in the past year. If you know any Air Force or Coast Guard veterans, we would love the opportunity to have them test with us as well.
Officer Jessica Armstrong joins us from Jackson, MS PD where she was a police officer for six years. Officer Armstrong is a U.S. Army veteran.
Officer John Rainey joins us from Memphis PD where he was a police officer for 12 years. Officer Rainey is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
Officer Aaron Zwicky joins us from Albuquerque PD where he was a police officer for 10 years. Officer Zwicky is a U.S. Navy veteran.
Officer Ozeil Arjona joins us having previously worked for Dallas PD. Officer Arjona is a U.S. Army veteran.
Officer Kellie Greenhill joins us having previously worked for the Kitsap County Sheriff Office.

Yesterday was our first ever Bulldog Bullyproof Training workshop le...d by School Resource Officer Tran with assistance from our Gracie Survival Tactics (GST) cadre leader Officer Richardson and our Records Specialist Lea Park who is also a jiu-jitsu instructor.
The purpose of the training was to provide students with basic non-violent techniques to counter common assaultive behavior displayed by bullies or others seeking to do them harm. Skills include verbal assertiveness and using leverage-based control holds to counter and neutralize threats without violence or use of punches, kicks or other strikes. The techniques are meant for the students to be able to gain control of an assailant in a non-violent manner until help arrives should verbal de-escalation techniques at the onset fail.
Thank you to the students who attended. We plan on hosting more of these workshops for students and hopefully for members of the community as well in the near future.
