Today, Corporal Joshua Moer was honored by members of the Texas Legi...slature for being named the 2018 IACP and Motorola Solutions Trooper of the Year. In March, the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and Motorola Solutions selected Corp. Moer as the 2018 Trooper of the Year for his heroic actions in saving the life of a young woman in Wilbarger County in April 2018. The Texas House of Representatives and Texas Senate both presented resolutions honoring Corp. Moer earlier today.
Corp. Moer was selected for this honor after being named one of four finalists from a list of valiant commissioned officers from the U.S. and Canada. DPS is proud of Corp. Moer for the work he does to protect and serve his community every day, and we congratulate him on this much-deserved honor. Please join us in thanking Corp. Moer for his service and sacrifice.
