The Lancaster County Board of Commissioners recently appointed three community members to the Lancaster County Extension Board:
* Dena Noe
* Trudy Pedley
* Chris Scow
The Extension Board provides guidance to Extension staff in establishing and accomplishing Extension education program goals and objectives. Annually, it assists in developing an operating budget. The board meets monthly (usually the second Friday at 8 a.m.).

All 4th and 5th graders are invited to Lancaster County 4-H Teen Council’s annual overnight Lock-In which will be held Friday, Jan. 19, 8 p.m.–Saturday, Jan. 20, 8 a.m. at the Lancaster Extension Education Center, 444 Cherrycreek Road, Lincoln. This year’s theme will be "Light Up the Night!" Cost is $20 per person. Registrations due by Jan. 17.

Master Gardeners Teach Youth, Adults and Create Beautiful, Sustainable Landscapes -- Now Accepting Applications
Do you enjoy working in your garden? Do your friends ask you for advice on their lawns, vegetables and flowers? Would you like to learn more about the art and science of horticulture? Then you should consider becoming a Master Gardener -- you have all the qualifications!
Program cost is $190 per person. To get started, complete and submit an application. Two Master... Gardener programs are available for residents of Lancaster county and surrounding areas:
• Evening training classes, 6-9 p.m. at Kiem Hall on UNL’s East Campus, 33rd & Holdrege. Application deadline is Jan. 12.
