FORT BLISS, Texas — Brig. Gen. In Hwang, Test and Evaluation chief for the Republic of Korea Army, visited OTC's Integrated Test and Evaluation Directorate (ITED) here July 26. His day began with an overview briefing by David Wellons, ITED's deputy director, to familiarize Hwang with Network Evaluation Integration 17.2, to include the key stakeholders, and the purpose of an NIE; a Soldier-led evaluation exercise designed to further integrate and rapidly progress the Army's ta...ctical communications network. Hwang also spent time with our Commander, Brig. Gen. John C. Mr. Darren Gross has been instrumental in getting the WIN-T instrumented data from WSMR to ATC in a timely fashion. Prior to starting execution of operations at Fort Bliss, Darren set up, configured, and trouble shot the three data harvesters being used to support data during this operation. He has directly contributed to getting the data to the customer in a timely fashion. Darren is a proven team player and will do whatever is require dto accomplish the mission. For his efforts, he was presented a coin by the USAOTC CG, BG John Ulrich.

The Test Technology Directorate (TTD) Team supprots instrumented data collection, reduction, and analysis (DCRA) for communications systems under test at Ft. Bliss, Texas. Their application of advanced engineering and technical knowledge provides the correct methodology and test technology required to capture test data and create a realistic operational environment, as well as modify test technology to meet operational testing requirements. The USAOTC CG and CSM presented four awards and two coins to these outstanding teammates.

Mr. Makin worked countless hours to swiftly identify, track, document, and resolve instrumentation issues relating to data collection, reduction and analysis (DCRA) for WIN-T Increment 2 TCN-L/NOSC-L, WIN-T
Increment 1 TRILOS Radio, as well as maintain and account for all of the ADMAS devices used to support data collection for the two System Under Tests (SUT). His dedication and attention to detail contributed to the successful collection a...nd reduction of data for the WIN-T and TRILOS operational tests. For his efforts, he was recognized as the ATEC Teammate of the Day for 21 July 2017 and presented a coin by the OTC CG, BG John Ulrich.

His logistical support through the remote warehouse (Government Furnished Property and Government Furnished Equipment) has met the supply and demand for NIE 17.2 in order to acquire a building for the TRILOS Test Team. His strong work-ethic ensures the supply demands are met in a timely manner. For his efforts, he was recognized as the ATEC Teammate of the Day for 16 July 2017 and presented a coin by the USAOTC Commanding General, BG John Ulrich.
