Pay discrimination persists in workplaces across America and, sadly, our champion athletes face the same challenges. Despite continuing to break attendance and viewership records and many times generating more revenue than the U.S. Men’s National Soccer Team, the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team has faced an outsized wage gap compared to their male counterparts. This or any kind of inequitable treatment is wrong and I am proud of the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team for standing up for pay equity.

By focusing on ensuring fair elections, reaffirming our commitment to restoring the Voting Rights Act, fighting voter suppression, ending the dominance of big money in our political system and cleaning up the culture of corruption in Washington, the "For The People Act" will strengthen our democracy and keep safe the principles of our great nation. It is a bold, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to restore the faith and function of American democracy – and I hope my colleagues in the Senate follow the House in embracing these historic reforms.
