Without a doubt USY had an enormous impact on the person I am today... to learn, to teach, to do... So much you shared with me... leadership, social skills, social action, repairing the world (tikkun ...olam), learning about Israel, communal organizational life, celebrating Shabbat, spirit (ruach), lifelong friends and relationships, fostering my love of Judaism... USY has been part of my life since 1980, through my pre-teen and teen years, years as staff, as a regional director, and now a parent of USYers. The relationships i built there, both with other Jewish... teens and with Judaism and the Jewish people affect my life even today, and will continue through the rest of my years. See More

I loved attending USY events either with my fellow Beth Tikvah Usyers or regional convention, which was in Niagara Falls, Ontario when I was a USYer in the 1970's, or Shabbatons. Made some wonderful f...riends, some of them I am still friends with after all these years. HAIL ECRUSY !! See More

I had the BEST 8 years (kadima and USY)! I have made the best friends and did the coolest things. Everyone was pushing me out of of my confront zone. I am such a shy kid, but Kadima, and USY really he...lped me grow as a person! I miss it all the time! See More

On International Women's Day we’re honoring the women who help enrich Conservative Judaism's diverse community by participating fully and equally in Jewish lear...ning, observance and practice. Today and every day with celebrate egalitarian values and our members who embody them.

To mark this unique day we'd like to share the story of Congregation Agudas Achim, which recently celebrated the unveiling of the first Torah in Texas to be written by a soferet.

Congregation Agudas Achim asked Jen Taylor Friedman, a female soferet, or scribe, to write a new Torah.
