I can’t say enough about the doctors, students, & staff! They love my babies like their own and that means the world to me!

My goat was seen on Christmas Eve because she was attacked by a pack of dog...s. They spent as much time with her as the needed to make sure they had taken care of her. I was in tears because they loved her so much & that really means a lot!

Today they did surgery on my labordoddle & again I have nothing but good things to say! I knew she was in good hands, but I was still worried. I called to check on the status of her surgery & they were so nice and understanding. As soon as she was in recovery her doctor called me. They loved on her today while she was recovering & I know she was happy about that. I highly recommend @utcvm!

Our pony Buzz aka Shaggy had cancer before we adopted him. He had surgery at Here Feb. 2017. He did great for 10 months then it returned. We took him back Feb. 218 almost one year to the day. Althoug...h he could not be saved this time the staff was VERY caring and compassionate. They looked for every possible solution. The care was excellent and the price reasonable. They not only returned his halter but braids of his hair, a hand written card, and a mold of his hoof print. Very bitter sweet, appreciated package. See More

The care and treatment of my horses was excellent and the staff (and students/interns) were absolutely fantastic. They called me in the morning to let me know how the night went and at night when it well as calls for any updates or test results. Top notch and highly recommended. The entire crew looking after my horses weren't just women...they were vets and vet techs. Love y'all. See More

We can’t thank Dr. Dottie Williams, Dr. Mike Nystrom, Dr. McLean, Jenny Howard, and all the staff that has had a hand in getting our baby girl Izzie Bell better. They have shown so much love and compa...ssion towards her, and us. Izzie has been at UT for 3 weeks now and will possibly be there another week to get her physical therapy. They all are amazing people and the love they have shown is beyond words. By far the best experience and professionalism we have ever seen. Our girl was really sick and they worked diligently to make her better. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts and we thank God for giving them the knowledge to do what they do. Much love to all!!!! See More

I am so disapointed in how they handled my friends sick dog. Gave him medication that they k re he has an allergic reaction too, DID NOT put her dog in the freezer when he died but rather left her dog... in a body bag labeled John doe dog, and he was decomposing before they could even find her dog, claiming he wasn't there as they didn't put her name on him. Refused to do a paw print or place a necklace around his neck. My friend was so crushed to lose her baby and the way they lied about how they would do these things for her was disgusting. They were incredibly cold, and did not care that she was so shattered and unable to see her dog like that, just said " where do you want the body". Extremely unprofessional. No respect at all for a mother who just lost her child. See More

Amazing, caring, compassionate people. My baby girl, long haired dachshund Lily, got very sick very suddenly. A visit to her regular vet had us home with antibiotics, but when her condition worsened a...fter hours, I drove her to a near by emergency vet hospital. I was floored by the lack of care and compassion they showed. Left immediately and took Lily to UTCVM small animal emergency at 12AM. Lily was taken into care, and immediately made comfortable, given much needed fluids, and admitted. The interns and doctors told me every detail, every step of the way, and did EVERYTHING they could do to figure out my girl's sickness. Happy to say she's on the up and up, and it's all thanks to these amazing people. Take your pet babies here--they'll be treated like family, just like you want them to be! See More

It's a shame how they treated my friends dog here when he passed away. No family should have to go through what my friend did. No respect. I have volunteered for a Vet office and remember doing all... kinds of thoughtful things for families including putting necklaces on and making tons of paw prints for them. Why could you not do this for your patient? Just ridiculous how low your standards have become since the new ownership. Shame on you. See More

While visiting my mother, my dog (Summitt) became ill. It was discovered that she had something lodge in her throat, off we went to UT. The Doctirs did a great job in diagnosing and getting her well, ...but it was senior student J. Berger who was the most helpful. Ms. Berger was polite and took time to explain the procedures being done and to answer every single question I had for after care. Ms. Berger is going to make an excellent vet. Summitt and I wish her the best. See More

Overwhelmed
This morning I got the call from Dr. White with the results of Designs necropsy. She had lung cancer. This horrible disease has taken my dad, both grandmothers, an aunt, an uncl...e and now a furbaby. This afternoon the mail delivered an express package from UT. I knew it was coming, but I was completely unprepared for how beautiful everything was. No one takes the time to hand write anything anymore. Along with the beautiful card a piece of her beautiful mane, tail and forelock had been washed, braided and tied with bows. I'm am grateful through the tears. On the day she was euthanized they told me all the students had fallen in love with her. The love they had for my beautiful Design shines through in their words of comfort. She was such a sweet soul, so much beauty and talent, taken away much too soon See More

For 10 years now I've only used UT vet for emergency only and for all specialty things for all my animals. They are high but you pay for what you get loving people and wonderful care for your animals.

I just wanted to say thank you to Dr. Gould and Sophie, a 4th year veterinary student, who helped to take care of my sweet boy Maddox in his last few days of life. Maddox was a 10 month old golden ret...riever, who for unknown reasons went into renal failure. Long story short, these two as well as the staff at the small animal hospital/ICU loved on my boy, and helped me during the most difficult few days of my life. I am sad to say Maddox is not with us, but I will never forget that these folks gave me a few more days with him; and for that, I am forever grateful. See More

My cat brought a baby bunny into the yard. We had no idea where the nest was, or how to care for it. From reading multiple sources, it seemed that is survival potential was very small if we tried t...o keep it. It seemed uninjured so I called UTVMC. They said bring it in down. It was checked for injuries, given fluids for hydration and antibiotics. They even called a person to rehab the bunny until it can be released back into the wild. I made a donation to their wildlife program which goes to help animals in instances like these. Thank you so much for helping the bunny! If you are looking for a worthwhile program to send donations, I highly recommend this one! See More

Feeling like a hero today after three baby blue birds jumped from their nest into a busy parking lot. UT Vets answered on the first ring and gave some great advice about how I can safely help the Mama bird wasn't so appreciative, but now the babies are safe under their tree. Your community appreciates you UTCVM See More

We paid for a young cat to have a cleft palate repair. They did a wonderful job and now Mal is almost 2 years old. We fostered him and tube fed him and wellllll he never left. He was malnourished... and only weighed 4 pounds. He should have weighed 7. He has a big bone structure. He is a very healthy 11 pounds now and the funniest red boy. They neutered him and he got his vaccines at the same time. Thank y'all for helping him get a great start. Our lovely veterinarian in Big Stone Gap Dr Shuler made the arrangements and we were blessed with the great level of care. I drove an 8 hour round trip to get him the day he was ready to be released. It’s not what it used to be. Wish they had more compassion for their customers.
