Tonight during the MTV “Restore the Shore” telethon, MTV announced it is partnering with United Way and yours truly to host MTV’s Alternative Spring Break in areas affected by Hurricane Sandy.

New Year’s Resolutions are often made with the best of intentions and promptly dropped. Statistics show that about two weeks into the year one-third of those who make resolutions are close to quitting. By March, 85 percent will have thrown in the towel! Stuff the Hummer is still rollin'. Donations will be accepted up until this Friday. Look for the bins around campus!

Stuff the Hummer is underway and we are kicking into gear for the Homecoming Parade! Come to the meeting tomorrow to see how you can get involved! Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 6:30pm in Stratford Heights Building 16, inside the main lobby in the front of the building.

Our Stuff the Hummer event is right around the corner. We are placing bins for collection items tomorrow (Friday) and need volunteers. We'll meet at noon on West Daniels Street between Daniels and Turner Halls. Hope to see some of you there! And feel free to bring a friend.

I hope everyone had a great Welcome Week on campus this past week! United Way @ UC is very excited to begin this upcoming year. Our first meeting will be held today, Wednesday, September 28th, at 7:00pm in room 541 in Langsam Library. It is one floor up from the main entrance in the 24/7 computer labs on the right. We will have snacks and beverages provided. We will be discussing and planning our upcoming events, which include a canned food and supply drive, as well as volunteer opportunities. Please join us if you are interested in learning more about Student United Way and would like to get involved in the community!
