Our future, now more than ever, must be about the fight for jobs, wages and wrap-around support for Shop Stewards and Reps. Workers must not be made to pay for the Covid crisis.
I will stand as the Workplace Candidate, focused on delivering an Industrial Programme, to defend jobs and secure better pay, terms and conditions.

Creating 'wrap-around' support for reps:
Sharon Graham introduced Work Voice Pay as Unite’s Broad Industrial Strategy. The purpose was to intensify the union’s focus on the workplace and on achieving industrial advances that benefit our members - secure work, a strong and effective voice in the workplace and decent pay and conditions.
The union is nothing without its reps and shop stewards. A major focus of Work Voice Pay has been ensuring that reps have the tools they need t...o do their job: the first comprehensive database of pay and anniversary dates in Europe and possibly the world; guides and templates to assist workplace bargaining, the Pay Claim Generator - which allows reps to build their own, full researched and laid-out pay claim in minutes.
And, “when our reps have been attacked we have pioneered leverage tactics to hit back - to win justice for our reps and confront victimisation and blacklisting. We can’t be a union and not be able to effectively support our stewards. I make no apology for this sort of action when an employer attacks Unite reps.”
