*You are a Pioneer*
“Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us.” 1 Samuel 7:12
Some people are pioneers. For these people of faith there is no smooth road ahead. And it doesn’t worry them. For they know that God takes them to places where there is no way, so they can make a way. And others follow through the path that they created in faith....
As you look back on the tortuous road your life has taken, thank God for the forerunners and pioneers who went on before you, who worked with Jesus through sweat, pain and tears to forge a path for you.
And as you look ahead and see only mountains and valleys with no clear-cut road ahead, understand that you are now the pioneer. What’s before you isn’t a dead end, it’s a chance to forge new beginnings.
Don’t be discouraged by the size of the task. Understand that if God takes you to it, He can take you through it.
Get to work pioneer. There are generations behind you depending on you. One step at a time. One day at a time, with Jesus, and you shall make it.
Happy New Year!
If you decide that no matter the challenges you’ll trust in God and be at peace in His power;
If you make up your mind to be led by your faith instead of your fears;
If you are determined that you’ll savour every moment and be grateful for each day;
If you decide to pray, yes truly consistently pray, ...
Then, comes what may, you will have a happy 2018 because you will take happiness into it.
So Happy New Year! For whatever 2018 thinks, it can’t stop your joy!
Let’s celebrate and praise our God for one more year!
God has not brought you to 2018 to leave you. Go forward in faith!
God is with you, therefore success and peace, even amid the challenges, shall be yours.
In the mighty name of Jesus, you will be victorious this New Year. 2017 couldn’t stop you. Neither will 2018. Happy New Year!
We pray for comfort and peace for those who can’t find a reason to hope.
We pray for those longing for healing. For those who feel alone and tired of being alone, dear Lord, please be their companion.
For those who yearn for a financial breakthrough and are tired of struggling, dear Lord please make a way.
Today, one of your children is lost, another is tired, and yet even more yearn for peace. ...
Jesus, God Omnipotent, there exists no sorrow you can’t heal or lack that you can’t satisfy.
We come to you because there is none like you.
Jesus, we pray in your love, in your compassion, in your name, in your care — in your name. Amen
The centurion replied, "Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. *But just say the word*, and my servant will be healed...
When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, "Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith...
Then Jesus said to the centurion, "Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would." And his servant *was healed at that moment*.
Matthew 8:8,10,13 (NIV)
*Don’t Be Discouraged*
A praying Christian who is firmly connected to God’s spirit becomes an amazing source of power. God’s Spirit flows through you when you’re close to Him and He impacts the lives of others around you.
Therefore, it’s to stop the power of God within you, that Satan is trying to discourage you. Satan wants you to feel deflated and overwhelmed so he can rob you of your faith, and cause you to become disconnected from your True source of power.
Satan wants... you to worry, and to attempt to solve your problems by yourself. Remember Satan cannot afford to have you be too powerful as you’ll be a terror to his fortress - because of the power of God within you. That’s why the devil tries to discourage those whom God empowers to deliver.
My friend, don’t hold down your head. Don’t let those trials overwhelm you. God is with you! The devil is still a liar!! He just wants to stop your power.
Onward Christian soldier, for the battle isn’t yours it’s the Lord’s. Victory is yours. And power is yours. Because God hasn’t left you.
“One of you shall put to flight a thousand, since it is the LORD your God who fights for you, just as he promised you.” - Joshua 23:10
This is what the Lord says: “Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord , who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord . Jeremiah 9:23,24
You asked God to provide and He provided. Mark my words - He shall provide for you again. He's not any less powerful because you've got a bigger challenge. Have faith in God and be at peace in your heart.
"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:19
Even in the darkest hour, your most trying time - when you're most afraid, God is still God. He is still here.
Trust Him even in these moments, for even amid the pain and brokenness, He will still come through. It's not over. Amen
Slow down and cultivate a proper relationship with your God. He won't compete with social media or provide the constant stimulation of today's frenetic media.
As the world rushes on, make it your duty to "take time to be holy...spend much time in secret, with Jesus alone". The grab-and-go, microwave generation, need to realise that you can't successfully cultivate a relationship with God "on the go". Be calm in your soul. Slow down. And cultivate a deeper relationship with God.
Treasure this moment. Life is fragile. And we aren't promised tomorrow. Love God and love each other. Don't take your blessings for granted.
Dear Jesus, teach us how to savour life's moments and rest confidently in you. In all our planning for the future, help us not to miss the blessings you've given us today. Please teach us gratitude Lord. Thank you Jesus. Amen
*Righteousness, the Key to Powerful Praying*
"If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you...and whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight...We know that God does not listen to sinners, but He does listen to the one who worships Him and does His will...
...The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much...
...The LORD is near to all w...ho call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth...
...And this is the confidence that we have before Him: If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us..."
John 15:7; 1 John 3:22; John 9:31; James 5:16; Psalm 145:18; 1 John 5:14
Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.
And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.
"I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?
(John 14:12-14; Isaiah 65:24; Jeremiah 32:27)
God's promise doesn't mean you won't have to pray long and hard before you get it.
I will send rain. That was the sure promise made by Him who cannot lie. "After a long time, in the third year, the word of the LORD came to Elijah: "Go and present yourself to Ahab, and I will send rain on the land." 1Kings 18:1 (NIV)
The land was parched by over three years of drought so rain was surely needed.
But the fact that God made the promise doesn't mean you'll get it easy. You have ...to persist and persevere in prayer for it.
After the heroics of Mount Carmel where Elijah miraculously defeated Baal's prophets, you'd think rain would immediately start. But one miracle isn't always followed instantly by a next one. Will you let that fact break you?
There was no rain. Elijah prayed. No rain. He prayed again and again. No rain. But didn't God promise ?
It's wasn't until the seventh time of Elijah's pleading that his servant reported: "A cloud as small as a man's hand is rising from the sea." So Elijah said, "Go and tell Ahab, 'Hitch up your chariot and go down before the rain stops you.'" 1 kings 18:44
Saint, the breakthrough God promised is certain. The rewards He has in store for you are sure. The promises of the bible are true. But can you persist in prayer until you get through? Big promises can't be unlocked by little prayers.
Do you need "rain"? Then don't stop praying till your breakthrough comes!
"As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:14-16 (NIV)
