Last concert in the books. A sad day for our Seniors. St. Nicholas Cathedral was a packed house and a wonderful way to end the tour.

Day 9 - Last day in Europe. This morning we have some free time. Some of us are going to visit the Jewish Museum and some of us are sleeping in.

When we arrived in Prague we walked with our local tour guide, Olga, through a wet city. We saw the beautiful St. Charles Bridge, the old city and the Prague Castle. Last night we attended a folk-lore dinner with music and dancing. So much fun!

Day 8 - While we are on our 5 hour bus ride to Prague we discussed some differences in Europe from the U.S. Here are our Top 10, in no particular order.
1. You have to pay for public bathrooms.
2. There is smoking everywhere.
3. There is lots of public transportation. Many people bike.
4. Narrow roads - Our SUV's would never fit....
5. Gelato-Say no more.
6. Almost everyone can speak English.
7. Nice cars-lots of nice cars
8. The water they drink is mineral water. You have to ask for Still Water.
9. We haven't noticed any bugs. Therefore there are no screens on the windows.
10. History - lots of history.

Day 6 - We learned quite a bit of history from our two hour guided tour of the city this morning. Then the choir sang outside of Schoenbrunn Palace, as part of "Voices of the World" concert series. Afterwards we took a tour of the Palace. Pretty amazing! The gardens surrounding the palace were just as exquisite. Some of us MAY have gotten stuck in a downpour with hail as we were hiking down the hill back to the castle. But we sure made some memories!

We have enjoyed perfect weather the entire trip. Yesterday it rained shortly after our river cruise and we were on the bus. Last night at dinner it poured while we were safely inside. This morning is looking marvelous as we head to a two hour walking tour of Vienna, guided by a local.

Ah, Vienna! We made it to our hotel, then had some free time to walk around. We get to stay here for three nights, which is so helpful in settling in. We ate classic Wienerschnitzel and potatoes with Apple Strudel for dessert. Yum!
