Do you know there is a cure for Sickle Cell Disease? It's called get tested. I am tired of attending... these Support Groups and hear these parent carriers of the trait speak selfishly. "Well I knew I had the trait, then I met John and found out he had the trait too. We were too much in love to quit so the we had a kid. She/He goes thru alot of pain but we are here to support them in their Sickle Cell Crisis'."
Parents stop it you don't know what the pain feels like try as you may and when you lay down DELIBERATELY knowing you have the trait and the SURETY of passing it on you being SELFISH. That's right selfish to bring a child into the world that's gonna suffer. A child who won't live a normal life. A child who sometimes wish they were dead because the pain is so severe.
