An advertisement you will like - for the already widely-acclaimed book by Burrows and Hadland - From Bicycle to Superbike. It's a 188-page hardback of which, the first half is a biography written by the respected author Tony Hadland, revealing a lot of fascinating anecdotes about Burrows, and several surprises. Part two is a timeline of all 74 bikes that Burrows has been directly involved in, split between the Classics (including freight bikes), and Laidbacks (including Daisy for Guy Martin). Get closer to the designer and the designs that re-define the modern cycle design genre. Order it from co-author Tony Hadland's website (https://hadland.wordpress.com/), or the BHPC (http://shop.bhpc.org.uk/from-bicycle-to-superbike-by-tony-h…) where all copies are autographed for a quid extra for the club funds.

Puzzle time - just for fun - does anyone know what this bike is? Who, where, perhaps why. Looks supremely practical and well-equipped. (I don't actually know - just found the images on my computer)

Could this be a sensible alternative to point-source rear lights? Tern have just released a rear light that illuminates the ground too - the Vizy. Will it give a recognisable visual signature that says "bike", and assist drivers in giving the cyclist sufficient space?

Call-out to all female riders interested in cross country MTB rides, supported exclusively by Hope Tech in the UK. The rides are free! Bikes are made available too! Read all about it here: www.hopetech.com/hopetech-women-rides/
The first ride was in April.
Hope are now much more than a disc brake manufacturer - their range includes wheels, transmission and numerous problem-solving bits and bobs. #hopetechwomen #hopetech

Here at Hope we believe there should be a lot more women on two wheels than there currently is. The female riding movement is growing but we’d like it to grow faster! Hence we’re organizing a fortnightly Tuesday women’s night ride in the north-west of England.

Has anyone spun-up their wheels to realise there's a weight imbalance? Ever wondered if the bouncing as a result of this could affect rolling efficiency? Ever tried to balance your wheel buy adding weights to the rim? --These might be what you've been weighting for -sorry! ;) The set comes with a selection of different metal weights. https://silca.cc/collections/tubeless

Lincolnshire's real life superhero, Guy Martin attempted to set a new water HPV record last Wednesday. Unfortunately, his aquafoil equipped craft was hampered by weed in the Brayford pool in Lincoln and he couldn't get the floatation hulls out of the water. However, there was a good turnout of spectators, helpers and the TV crew to record the outcome, were it to have been a success. Guy has since said, “ta for the support, I look forward to having another crack at it down the line.”

Charity fundraiser Neil Melville-Rae has just completed a 279-mile penny-farthing journey from London to Paris. His arrival was set to coincide with the finale of the Tour de France at the Arc de Triomphe, but he arrived early! One stretch of the journey – the 24-mile Channel sea-crossing was taken on a kayak.
The effort saw him raise money for Jigsaw Trust, an independent day school in the UK for children and young people on the autism spectrum. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UETWq5W_zbo.

For me, cargo bikes really ‘deliver’ the positive message – cycling is fun and practical. Celebrate and enjoy the growing phenomenon of cargo biking here in the UK this August. Several competitions and races to get involved in and you don't need a cargo bike to participate or attend.
