- G'day VicSuper, I read recently that you've greatly reduced invest...ments in fossil fuels. Thanks. Great job. I hope you can continue to work towards completely ceasing investment in such companies and markets in the near future. I'm wondering if you currently invest in companies that are contracted by Australia's offshore detention centres on Manus Island and Nauru, or even onshore? You may have seen the terrible events that have happened in these centres in the past 3 years including deaths, child abuse and sexual assault - unfortunately often committed by staff employed there. The companies to look out for are Broadspectrum (formally Transfield), Serco, Wilson Security and G4S. There may be others if you're keen to look into it. If Vic Super does invest in such companies will you please consider ceasing such investments? I have been a member since I began full time work but unfortunately cannot remain with a fund who invests my money (even a small percentage) in such companies. Thanks for your time, Dominica

#BeBoldForChange this International Women’s Day. We know that 90% of Australian women retire without adequate superannuation savings, take part in our Super Woman Money Program to change that trend – starting Tuesday 14 March.
This International Women’s Day, we’re asking you to #BeBoldForChange.
We now know that around 90% of Australian women retire without adequate superannuation sav...ings.* Contributing factors are pay parity, taking career breaks to raise a family, working part-time, and life changing events including divorce, all contributing to the financial disadvantage that women experience. These factors combined mean that many Australian women can feel less in control of their money and the end result is that most will retire with less than half of the savings of their male counterparts.
The Super Woman Money Program helps address this gender disparity by empowering women. This engaging program has been specifically designed to help women take control of their finances and achieve their short, medium and long-term financial goals. It aims to help women start creating a lifestyle with financial security that can be enjoyed now and in retirement.
We firmly believe that financial knowledge, confidence and choice helps women take control of their future. This challenge is about independence. It’s also about choice. But at the heart of the matter, it’s about having the confidence to take control of the future.
Next program is starting on the 14th March superwomanmoney.com.au/subscribe
