I showed a ranger my senior discount card for forest service parking and camp sites and asked him if this is valid for parking at the juniper point parking lot I can show fish.
He said yes it is good for that.
I displayed it on my dash and left my window down so a ranger could see it,
And I came back to my truck with a ticket on it!!!!!
Screw big bear, money hungry rangers

Big Bear was great. The trolly driver Connie was great. As we drove around she pointed out all the points of interest and good places to eat. She also took us t...o the John Denver Tribute Concert on Saturday night and the regular riders were so happy with the service. We were too, especially when we saw the traffic pile up after the concert! Coming back for sure! See More

Big Bear was amazing. I am not a snow person but Big Bear Lake is simply beautiful in May! We road the lifts up snow summit and did some hiking. The trails excellent ever for us beginner's. It wasn't crowded in town at all. Cabin was clean and very affordable.
Yes, we will return with family and friends.

I enjoyed my time in Big Bear. It was beautiful and the people friendly. The local drivers were aggressive, but I let it slip off my back. My ONLY complaint is ...there were NO bear claws (the pasty) in Big Bear!! I I would go back!!
Sister to Sister bakery was amazing and the Hawaiin coffee place was fabulous too!!

I love it! I've been there a long time ago... I need to go back!.. My daughter came up to get baptized... I could only stay but a short time. It's such a beautiful small town feel from all the crowd and madness of Anaheim California where I live... excited to come back a visit...

Was very disappointed. It was nothing like I remembered it being when I was younger. It was run down and the lake was merky looking. There were no trees alon...g the lake banks There were very few enjoyable places. It doesn't come close to comparing to Lake Arrowhead. I'll probably never go back to Big Bear. What a disappointment. Big Bear in the spring is absolutely beautiful and tranquil. It's so close yet it feels so far away from LA. We loved the walks through the woodsy neighborhoods. The people we met were friendly. Cruising on the pontoon boat on the lake was so relaxing.

I was in Big Bear scouting running trails for our group coming up on 6/03. I thought it was beautiful. The trail was very well maintained. I spoke to several people camping who seemed very happy. I live about 45min. Away and am sorry I don't visit more often.

Best place to get away and relax for a weekend! If you have a truck you can really get out of the city and get lost in the trails.

Beautiful area, nice experience. We can also recommend the Big Bear Zoo (small and a little expensive, but nice too)

4+ lb holdover caught on rainbow garlic power bait on north shore just past windy point! Very little action other than that!
