The seventh congressional District debate on News Watch 12 starts now. Good evening and welcome to the seventh Congressional District debate here on News. Watch 12 I'm Justin Betti. This is our debate leading up to the May 12 special election for a seat in Congress representing Northern Wisconsin Representative Sean Duffy held that seat in 2010 till September of last year when he retired citing family reasons tonight, we are joined by the two candidates running to fill that seat Republican State Senator Tom Tiffany and Democrat Tricia Bunker, of course, because of Coppin, 19, are set up is a little different tonight in order to ensure proper so. Distancing we are spread out throughout our News. Watch 12 Studio the candidates, 12 feet apart. We aim to help you get to know our candidates a little better over the next 60 minutes. We're also live streaming the debate on Facebook so feel free to give your thoughts or suggest some questions. We may use them on air before we get to our questions so a little background on each candidate Mister Tiffany is currently serving his second term as a state senator before that he served one term in the Wisconsin Assembly. Mazinger is the Was' school board. As well as the Justice for the Ho-Chunk Nation tonight, I'll be asking both candidates essentially the same questions for which they'll each have one minute to respond, followed by 30 seconds each for rebuttal. We'll alternate who goes first, but before we get to our questions, each candidate will have one minute to provide an opening statement won the coin toss she may will go first. Mayer. You may begin. Thank you mister Buddy and thank you W J F W for hosting this important debate tonight. I was born and raised in Wausau. I grew up in a strong Union. Household and my mom is a USW Local two dash 224 Union member to this day. My grandpa was a dairy farmer in Marathon County. I come from humble beginnings and I know what it is like to live paycheck to paycheck, but there were opportunities in my life that I seized upon and it allowed me to be a first-generation College graduate, then law school graduate. I'm a member of the Ho-Chunk Nation and serve as a judge for my tribe as well as Professor and school board President for the Wausau School District. I'm also Solo.
