The cold front that brought storms Sunday will bring much colder temps by Tuesday morning. A Frost Advisory will be in effect for most of central NC from 4-9 a.m. Tuesday. Bundle up & protect any tender plants you've put in the ground the past few weeks.
Today is the 7th anniversary of the historic tornado outbreak in North Carolina that resulted in 30 tornadoes in one day! That's the largest one-day total on record. Do you remember? Thankfully, no more storms expected this week.
SUNDAY SEVERE WEATHER UPDATE: The Storm Prediction Center has upgraded our risk of severe storms from Slight To Enhanced for much of central North Carolina. The time frame for our severe weather looks to be from 4 PM Sunday to 1 AM Monday. Damaging wind gusts will still be the primary threat, however, localized flooding and even an isolated tornado will be possible.
