Completed the across Wales walk yesterday. 42 miles in a day - Interesting, challenging, fun, painful and I was a bit of a mess at the end but recovering slowly after fish and chips, G and T, some stretches and a good sleep. I won't be doing it again I much prefer 1000 miles at a leisurely pace.

It has occurred to me that this is no longer about "walking round Wales for Shelter Cymru" and that I'm posting other stuff now. I'm not sure what effect changing the name will have so I'll just leave it and hope Shelter Cymru will forgive me. I have itchy feet and I'm sure I will do something else for Shelter Cymru, maybe next year. Meanwhile you can always check out their website and see what others are doing.

Paul Evans has just started walking round Wales. I am so envious! He is doing it for a really good cause. Visit his website and wish him luck.

I am amazed that folk still keep finding this page and some even still liking it! I finished this fabulous walk exactly a year ago and now I need another challenge. A bit of a shorter one this year in both time and distance, but actually I am less sure I can do it than the 1050 miles I walked last year. I am going to do the Rotary Across Wales Walk on 20th July. Its about 42 miles and has to be done in the day. I won't be carrying much, that will help, but it's two and a ...half times my average daily walk round Wales!
Things to remember:- Shelter Cymru still needs support. http://www.sheltercymru.org.uk/ Ursula is still walking! over a year after she set out, in support of Ovarian Cancer http://www.onewomanwalkswales.com/

I finally met up with Ursula yesterday. Our paths never came close enough whilst I was walking. She started around the same time as me but is still going. What an amazing lady. I loved walking with her and hope to meet up again soon.

Wow what a homecoming! Chris and Claire met me in Knighton and walked the last 2 hours. Then I met other friends and neighbours along the way and finally at home there must have been about 40 people to wave and cheer. Bunting, balloons, cakes and sandwiches by the score and of course gallons of tea. Quite overwhelming.
Just off to take Oscar dog for a walk. (not too far!)

I'm home safe, more to follow soon.

Just one more Pink Dot to colour in and Rebecca will do it about 5pm here at Llanfair Waterdine.

Another animal photo for you. This is a daddy cow. He was laying 3yds from the stile surrounded by mummy and baby cows. He was most polite and stood up as I passed. I would have been so much calmer if he had just kept still. (took the photo once safely the other side of the fence.)
And oh yes - I'll be home tomorrow. OMG I'M SO EXCITED!
