West Orange Bass AnglersSports League
***UPDATE*** There is another tournament on Johns Lake this Saturday that would likely consume all the parking. The club has decided to fish on Sunday at Johns Lake to avoid the traffic, realizing it may cause conflicts for some due to Mother's Day. Come on out this Sunday to join!
Remember, this month’s tournament will be held Saturday, May 12 (in observance of Mother’s Day) at Johns Lake. We are still accepting new teams—just show up at the ramp to register. We pick our lakes for the next month after the tournament, so there is no set schedule posted for the year. Looking forward to seeing everyone on Saturday!
Due to Mother’s Day falling on the second Sunday of May, we will be fishing Saturday, May 12th instead at Johns Lake. There is still time to join the club this year—just show up at the ramp. $70 per tournament and $50 membership fee per person. 100% payback! We look forward to seeing everyone at Johns Lake.
It has been far too long since we've posted anything, and for that we apologize. We just finished our last season with a great Classic on Okeechobee, with the winning two-day weight exceeding 50 pounds. Plenty of big bags and bass to go around down there.
We are gearing up for another great season in 2018-2019 and will have our first event on Sunday, April 8 launching from Whaley's Landing on West Lake Toho.
We fish the second Sunday of the month (except on holidays) as a te...am trail, and we have NO MEETINGS. Many of our members have been with the club for years and years, and we are a group that trusts each other and has a good time. We look forward to adding new boats this year and expanding the club.
Membership fees are $50 per person to join, and the entry fee is $70 per tournament. 100% payback between the tournament, big bass, and the Classic fund. You must fish 7 tournaments to qualify for the Classic. Show up at the ramp on Sunday, April 8 to join! We're excited to have you.
Congratulations Nate Martin, you have won our Mercury Giveaway! Thank you to everyone who entered, we will be posting another giveaway soon!
(*Ended*)GIVEAWAY T...IME!! This week we're giving away a 32" x 8.5" Mercury Carpet Decal. Please Like, Share and Tag a friend to enter. Don't forget to Like our business page so you don't miss any future giveaways!
Winner announced Friday July 14th
Our June tournament is back on the regular day (second Sunday of the month). We'll be launching from the downtown ramp on Toho and will do our best not to change it this month! The water levels and crowds should be acceptable this time around. See everyone at the ramp on Sunday, June 11.
**ATTENTION, ATTENTION** New Lake for Saturday!!!
We apologize for all of the late changes, but we are moving the lake location to Butler for our Saturday, May 13 tournament. We will launch from R.D. Keene Park (the usual Butler ramp). See everyone there, and please tell your friends about the change.
WOBA Members, we're hearing through the grapevine that the water levels at Cypress are low and could have safety concerns. Has anyone been out there to validate what we've heard? We can move the launch site if there's a safety issue but we'd like to hear it firsthand first.
Also, remember that our tournament is on SATURDAY this month, the 13th, due to Mother's Day being on our usual Sunday.
We hope everyone had a safe and restul Fourth of July. Our next tournament is this Sunday, July 10, at Johns Lake. See you at the ramp! New teams may still join--just arrive a few minutes early to get registered and review club details.
Looking forward to seeing everyone this Sunday at Gilbert Park in Mt. Dora. We fish from safe light to 3 p.m., and it's still early enough for new teams to join. See you bright and early!
We had a great season opener event and are looking forward to our second event on Sunday, June 12 at Gilbert Park in Mt. Dora. (Note this a ramp change from our discussion due to two other large tournaments being at the other ramp that was discussed.)
Our top finishers for the firs event were as follows:
John and Anthony (A): 9.85 lbs with Big Bass of 4.58 lbs...
Malone & Tommy: 7.38 lbs
See everyone on Sunday, June 12 at Gilbert Park in Mt. Dora!
***ATTENTION*** New year, new members. Join West Orange Bass Anglers at our season opener event. Saturday, May 7, Whaley's Landing (Toho). We normally fish the second Sunday of the month but will be fishing on Saturday this month due to Mother's Day. We are looking for new members to join our existing members. Contact us if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing everyone at the ramp!
