I want to give a BIG shout out to Officer Brandon Gehlhausen for coming out to help this damsel in distress! I’m an Uber driver and while driving a passenger to her destination hit a pot hole causing ...a flat tire near Oak Ridge Elementary School. At the suggestion of my passenger, I called Westfield Police Department’s non-emergency phone line feeling a bit defeated at my situation.

The dispatcher assured me I had done the right thing and paged an officer to assist me. Officer Gehlhausen showed up within 5 minutes of my call. He was not only a true gentleman but an incredibly reassuring and helpful man. His only request of me (after my repeated requests to help and make myself useful) was to aim his flashlight on the area he was working.

He got the spare tire put on with no complications whatsoever! I thanked him over and over and over again. He was so incredibly helpful! It is my intention of making this post public so not only his colleagues but his family knows how much I appreciate him. He was so kind and helpful to me! He even stuck around to watch me test drive the spare tire in the parking lot! Again, Officer Gehlhausen, from the bottom of my heart I THANK YOU! The city of Westfield is better because of you being on their police force.

Tonight my daughter's Jeep broke down and was stranded in the Steak and Shake drive thru. I had her call the Westfield Police dept to assist her since I was at work in Fishers. They stayed with her ...until I could get there and even called a tow truck for her. So very thankful for their assistance! See More

My daughter's husband locked his keys in his car while it was running. I told her to call the non emergency number to see if they could help. They came out in 5 minutes and opened the door. Thank you much for everything you all do!! So grateful!!! See More

Want to give a huge thanks to Officer Meier. On Thursday night, my car was broken into while I was at work & several things were stolen. Officer Meier was nice as could be, and extremely professional.... He was also the only person who didn't make me feel completely stupid for leaving what was stolen in my car. He even called me back twice that night & told me things I could do to help protect myself. He was absolutely wonderful. See More

Thank y'all for being so sweet and down to earth. Thankfully the two times I have had encounters with y'all, one for being a day late on my tag ( I had back surgery and it slipped my mind I had to pay... it) the officer, deservingly, should have gave me a ticket but didn't. And when the mouthy teenagers at my apt complex kept throwing a football at my brand new truck the officer was very kind to come out and talk with me over the phone as to what to do if it occurs again. In FL a run in with the cops was always a terrifying experience, even if your innocent lol! But I always new it's because they dealt with a lot of really rough people. It's refreshing to live in a sweet little town like this. Thank you for your protection, God bless you, we live in a ungrateful world, but there is still people who you don't even know who love and pray for you! Be safe! See More

My husband, who at the time was a volunteer police officer for another town, was on his way home after his shift ended at midnight. He was a couple miles from home when a Westfield police officer pull...ed him over. They said an anonymous caller had called in a description of my husbands car for driving "recklessly". He was in full uniform and had every I.D. Card he could possible have. The Westfield officer proceeded to call for backup, then called my husbands chief(who vouched for him), then called and woke the prosecutor up... All for nothing! They tried to get him for impersonating a police officer.. Too bad he WAS an officer. Not so fond of the Westfield Police. See More

Want to thank Officer Velazquez for being such a professional and taking his job so seriously. We had some incidents occur to our home over the weekend that have been blown off in the past as minor, "...teenagers messing around," etc. When it's your family and your home, it doesn't feel that way, and Officer Velazquez clearly understands this. Thank you! See More

You should really teach your officer how to deal with the community. I asked a officer that refused to give his name a simple question and he proceeded to yell at me. I work and pay his salary and he ...can try to treat me with a little bit of respect. See More

Summer is never easy for police officers. We have had to take up for neighborhood kids several times already.
However tonight Westfield police took up for the kids. This showed all ages of neighbor's (when your in the right and respectful )Officers will defend you. This will create a bond in trust for officers . Deleting any negative impact they might of had.
It was very pleasing to see all the kids & teens running around yelling & playing " I want to be a policemen or police women when I grow up." Pretending they were swat looking for bad guys. The kids even teens were so proud , happy and biggest smiles.

Thank you

Love to stroke tickets on 31 but you will never see them patrol the residential neighborhoods in an attempt to stop the car break-ins or vandalism.

Common to see 3-4 Officers eating together, on midnight shift and you will get the same rhetoric from the brass when you voice your displeasure with the attitude of any of their Officers. See More

Fellow Dog lovers - I've just been told this pup is STILL outside and the MSPCA stated they would do something back on the 5th!! Stephen Cio Burrell in Westfield, Massachusetts.

This beautiful German Shepherd is quite literally left chained OUTSIDE in this 10, 15°F weather 24 hours a day. This morning wm he was uncontrollable shivering and the owners of 105/107 Miller Street, Westfield, MA would not answer their door no matter how hard I knock. Rather they just peek behind the curtain look at me and then quickly close the curtain again. They would not answer me when I called out to them to open the door. I've reported it to the MSPCA here at Westfield. They simply told me we'll swing by and take a look. WHAT ACTION TO TAKE????

They took the time to find my wallet at night on the Midland Trace Trail. They will check on your property when you go on vacation and send you a report. Very professional!

Two of Westfield's finest just went ABOVE and BEYOND for me!!! They took the mantra of "To Protect and Serve" and exemplified it, in my opinion! Thank you does not adequately express my gratitude!!
