So YouTube decided to change its YouTube Partner Program qualification which is the part where YouTubers get pocket money for their video contributions by way o...f advertisements.
For me, even with 1500 subscribers to my account and over 800,000 hours of viewership (which is paltry I suppose in social media terms), I got bumped out of the programme too along with thousands of others! Will more subscribers help? I am not sure. So no more kopi money from my viral videos until YouTube feels I qualify.
It was never really about the money for me but some little allowance after putting in so much time and effort in putting up videos is always appreciated.
STORY FOR TODAY
During my days in Haw Par Villa, we were required to perform many skills; acting, dancing, singing, hosting, drumming and even lion dancing! The...y are all great things to learn and perform but the value of one particular skill I learnt from was stilt walking. Yes we used to stilt walk too!
Anyone would feel a little worried when starting out doing stilt walking because your legs were strapped on to 1 meter tall wooden stilts balancing on just 3 inch diameter ends. One must pluck up some courage to even try to stand upright much less start walking. With the help of colleagues or anything we could get our hands on like lamp posts or walls, we could stand and then tried to balance ourselves. Next was the hard part, walking!
One must pluck up some courage to take the first step and push away fears of falling. The trick to stilt walking is counter-balance. One must always have one stilt end on the ground while the other counter balanced one's movement. As long as one continued moving, he was okay. Once he stops, he will fall!
This is a life lesson I learnt from stilt walking which is to take that scary first step and always keeping on moving in life. Never stop if you don't want to fall. I've been 'stilt walking' for 26 years now!

It was a year ago that this song of mine went viral and hit No.1 trending on YouTube. It received international media attention and created a storm in a teacup!... I would like to believe it helped Singapore get back the 9 military vehicles that got impounded in HK by the Chinese authorities. #terrexchia
