Dennis is THE man to go foraging with! He knows so much about so many things and loves to share his kowledge. We got a good amount of mussels, cockels and weeds... to have a good dinner in the evening! Would love to do it more often if I would live in the neighbourhood!! Defenite reccomendations when out in co. Mayo! Also a great day for children!!! See More

Spent a lovely Sunday afternoon with Denis on Bartra Island. Enjoyed every minute of it from exploring the island to bird spotting to collecting the cockles & mussels. He even gave me a receipe for a delicious cockle soup. Mile buíochas!!

I thoroughly enjoyed a memorable afternoon walking out to Bartra Island at low tide, exploring, foraging, chatting. Saw larks soaring for the first time in year...s, seals basking and swimming, spectacular views, beautiful wild flowers. Tasted wild samphire... delicious! Denis was the perfect guide. See More

Denis led us on a fabulous tour, which included Neolithic sites and historic points of interest; then foraging for various seaweeds, cockles, mussels & periwink...les. It was a magical day- seeing the ruins on Bartragh island, sea birds & seals; then eating our supper (our foraged goods in white wine & garlic)! Denis has a wonderful store of knowledge, which we were so privileged to share. WACT went inland to the uplands( Nephin wilderness) and then ventured south to Cong and the island of Inchagoill on the Corrib( a magical place).

A fantastic day of foraging and feasting last friday as part of the Ballina Food Fleadh. The weather was kind for the few hours we were out, Stephen , Lily and staff had a beautiful spread of foraged and local food laid on when we returned to the new Jack Fenn Courtyard Cafe, a perfect place to enjoy the fruits of the day. Thanks to all involved in organising the event - Mayo North .Ballina Chamber, and Belleek Castle Ireland and a big thank you to all who ventured out on the day. We will definitely be doing this again so keep your eyes out .......

Hi all here are some photos from Cursliamh yesterday

Secret marriage proposals with Wild Atlantic Cultural Tours - I was lucky enough to witness a surprise marriage proposal a few weeks ago...Niall got in touch to say he was bringing his girlfriend Aoife to Killala for the weekend, and planned to propose while here... and he wanted to make sure it happened in a beautiful spot! So I took them on a ramble along the wild, secluded north Mayo coast knowing that there were several gorgeous spots for such romance.
When we got to the... perfect location, I made myself scarce so Niall could pop the question - and luckily Aoife said yes!!!! They said it was 'better than Paris' and were delighted when I took a bottle of bubbly and a couple of glasses from my knapsack so they could celebrate... on a cliff edge, overlooking a hidden beach! It was a lovely thing to be part of and I wish them a lifetime of happiness together
