WANTED: Wilmington Police obtained warrants for David John Pollicino..., 48, after he struck a vehicle repeatedly before fleeing the scene in downtown Wilmington on April 26.
Officers responded to 22 North Front Street around 11:30 p.m. where the victim told officers she was sitting in her parked car attempting to leave when a full sized Chevrolet Silverado backed into her. The suspect vehicle then pulled forward and backed into the car again, and then once more. The victim blew her horn, then the suspect got out of the vehicle and began to yell and curse at the victim. The victim said when she did not know who the driver was and that when she told the suspect she was calling the police, he got back into the truck and fled the scene. The victim was able to obtain the registration plate as the suspect was leaving.
Investigators determined that Pollicino was the driver of the vehicle, even though he was not the owner of it.
The warrants are for hit and run leaving the scene with property damage, driving without a license and failure to see before backing.

We fight like we train, so we better train hard. This morning, WPD s...imulated a four hour mass critical incident and responded as if it were really happening, because as much as we hope something doesn’t happen in our community, it very well could. We established an incident command center, utilized our speciality units like SWAT, Crisis Negotiators, & the Bomb Squad and worked hard to maximize results. We’re here to protect and serve you, Wilmington, and it’s important we’re ready for anything. Today made sure we are. See More
