Patty for Senate

In the senate, I’ll work to restore funding for our local schools, technical colleges and UW campuses and fight to maintain our state’s reputation as a national... leader in education. As a member of the Somerset School Board, I’ve seen firsthand how our K-12 schools have struggled to maintain curriculum, services, and extracurricular opportunities for our kids, particularly in rural areas.

Student loan debt is a crisis that is affecting too many families across our state and preventing individuals from starting a family, launching a business or buying a home. I recognize that we can’t continue to pile mountains of debt on working families and I will fully support the effort to allow individuals to refinance their student loans at lower interest rates in Wisconsin.

Paul Ryan recently called Trump's racist remarks "unfortunate" and "unhelpful".

Mr Speaker, slurring an entire continent isn't just unfortunate, it's disgraceful, it's racist, and it must never happen again. You need to actually take a stand for Wisconsin and America.

This Tuesday voters in our 10th Senate District have the responsibility of electing a new State Senator to represent us in Madison.
I first took on this journey as a candidate for state senate because I truly love my community. Now, as we near the final day of the election, I want to say thank you to so many of you who I have had the chance to meet over the course of the past two months. Your stor...

When is Scott Walker going to denounce Trump for his racist slur?

Fox News thinks that's how you talk if you're "at a bar, and you’re in Wisconsin." Walker needs to speak out against Trump's bigotry and actually stand up for Wisconsin for a change.

The Democratic Party of Wisconsin's First Vice Chair, Rep. David Bowen, had strong words for President Trump in the wake of his appalling remarks yesterday.

The following is a statement from Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Martha Laning on Trump's racism, Fox News' attack on Wisconsin, and Walker and Ryan's unacceptable response to both.

According to Fox News, Trump's racist slur is just how you talk if "you’re at a bar, and you’re in Wisconsin".

Fox News, have you ever heard of the phrase "Wisconsin nice"? I can't believe we actually have to explain this, but Wisconsin nice includes not slurring entire countries. We don't talk like that here.

"If you’re at a bar, and you’re from Wisconsin, and you’re thinking, ‘They’re bringing in a bunch of Haiti people' ... This is how some people talk.”
