HAVE YOU SEEN IT? On this date, March 22, 1854, Eugene Shepard, Father of the Hodag was born near Green Bay. Although he made his career in the lumbering business near Rhinelander, he was best known for his story-telling and practical jokes. He told many tales of Paul Bunyan, the mythical lumberjack, and drew pictures of the giant at work that became famous. Shepard also started a new legend about a prehistoric monster that roamed the woods of Wisconsin - the hodag. Shepard b...uilt the mythical monster out of wood and bull's horns. He fooled everyone into believing it was alive, allowing it to be viewed only inside a dark tent. The beast was displayed at the Wausau and Antigo county fairs before Shepard admitted it was all a hoax. [Source: Badger saints and sinners, by Fred L. Pregnancy Centers are hope-giving, life-saving, women-helping places. Wisconsin is blessed to have well over 60 of these terrific organizations located all around the state. Unlike Planned Parenthood, with now just 20 facilities and with the bulk of those being in major population centers, pregnancy centers are in both rural and urban areas, each offering help and hope to women—and men—experiencing an unwanted or crisis pregnancy.
Adoption is almost always a good-news story. Giving children a forever earthly family is a beautiful picture of God’s adoption of us into His family, through grace. In that regard, I’m happy to report that our new state budget now allows for Wisconsin families who adopt out of state or out of country to receive a $5,000 tax deduction to help with adoption expenses.
WFA president Julaine Appling joins VCY America Emergency Pastors Meeting to speak to Milwaukee area pastors this morning. The oral arguments have begun before the Supreme Court. Today is a day to pray for those who are our voice for religious freedom! Thank you to our allies at Family Policy Institute of Washington for sharing Facebook LIVE today!

The Supreme Court Hearing on this is TOMORROW: WFA has signed on to this friend-of-the-court brief that urges the Supreme Court urging to strike down the regulations that force pro-life pregnancy centers to advertise abortions as an unconstitutional violation of the First Amendment’s right to free speech. Please pray about this situation.
