While the WSIB is getting richer and richer, injured workers in Ontario are only seeing cuts to their compensation benefits.
The value of WSIB assets have grown to over double what they were in 2010. That is all while their payments to injured workers have shrunk to less than half.
Research shows that almost half of all injured workers in Ontario are living in poverty.
...And as the infograph reads below, "studies of Ontario injured workers with permanent impairments found that 58% have long term reduced earnings, 46% of permanently impaired injured workers live in or close to the poverty level and 9% live in deep poverty."
There is no place for bosses who pressure workers injured on the job not to seek help.
There is no place for bosses who force injured workers into poverty.
Out on the streets with Fight for $15 & Fairness talking about why we must hold Ontario politicians accountable on increasing minimum wage, no matter who gets elected on June 7th. #OntarioElections2018
"Workers have more power when they act together. We have won important new rights. We need to enforce them, defend them and win more rights for all workers. We win because we organize!"
Thank you Navi from Workers’ Action Centre for the Know Your Rights Workshop earlier today!
There is no place for bosses who pressure workers injured on the job not to seek help.
There is no place for bosses who force injured workers into poverty.
The Ontario WSIB must be held accountable.
...Join us at Queen’s Park this Friday and show the Ontario Provincial Parliament that injured workers are entitled to dignity, respect, and human rights! We will fight back against the unfair treatment and exploitation of injured and disabled workers.
An injury to one is an injury to all!
