Public speaking is a life skill that builds self-confidence and would make a difference in all their upcoming project based learning presentations (and there are many!) Join us for this fun and hands-on "Speak Easy" camp.
During this camp, students will learn techniques in creating their presentation material, preparing themselves mentally and physically before any presentation. They will receive constructive feedback from their peers. They will also receive a copy of their ...presentation on video for reference.

They will finish the class with more self-confidence and feeling taller walking into their next presentation! Warning: There will be lots of interactive fun and laughter during this workshop.

At graduation, a “Professional Role Model” Camp T-shirt, and a Certificate of Completion will be awarded to student.
A video of their signature talk will be sent to the parent within a week after class.

Due to the current fire devastation taking place in our local area, for your student's safety and all of our current state of mind due to this disaster, I've made a decision to postpone our class starting tomorrow.
We're currently unsure even if the NVUSD schools would re-open tomorrow.
I will get a new schedule planned out very soon once things are clearing up and I have more clarity.

One was sad this was our last week together.

The Speak Easy 3-day camp program is back! Camp will be in October 2017 in partnership with City of American Canyon.
We had great breakthroughs in public speaking from our middle school students last year while we had fun!

This week's at Camp Take Charge, our theme was "communication."
Through activities, we learned to communicate clearly, to be responsible in how we speak, and most importantly in how we listen with respect and comprehension. We talked about playing team and to not point fingers when things don't go right.
Well done middle school members. I know you'll show up with a different perspective the next time you communicate!! Proud of you.

My goofy 7 & 8 grade leaders from our workshop today. We talked about endurance, mindset, showing up, and proactive communication. We role played being encouragers for others. We learned about priorities and finishing what we start.

In case you missed it, this week at Mindful Schools, we talked most about how calming down is NOT the end-goal of mindfulness. Knowing yourself and feeling more... alive is! But these five practices and attitudes may make a good way to talk with your students about what works for them when they are feeling the inevitable, human emotions of mad, sad, ashamed, frustrated, jealous or greedy. Let us know how those conversations go!
