This is our annual dinner that lets us avoid charging dues and provides us with the funds to operate and support candidates. We also honor our PC of the Year and other award winners, have fun, and eat good food. Keynote speaker(s) TBA. Please see the ticket URL for prices. Ads in the program book are also available for purchase by campaigns or others.

This is one group's recommendations for State Central Committee candidates if you are in a district where you have a choice (unlike those of us in CD-8 where there are no choices). Agree or disagree with these choices? Feel free to comment below and tell us why.

Our Revolution Illinois

Our Revolution Illinois is very excited to announce our endorsement of the State Central Committee slate of candidates! These individuals ran as Bernie Delegate...s or have been super-Bernie volunteers in our state.

Transforming the party is and has been a major priority of the Our Revolution mission and agenda, and that requires getting progressives into state leadership.

The State Central Committee is the governing body of the Illinois Democratic Party. One male and one female are elected from each congressional district. In our state of Illinois, national DNC members are selected ONLY by the State Central Committee.

This slate of candidates are committed to

♦️ Transparency about what is happening at the state level

♦️ Standing up for our values

♦️ Insisting on democratic deliberation before important votes

♦️ Opening up participation within the party

♦️ Listening to the grassroots

♦️ Representing voters, NOT special interests

♦️ Pushing for a progressive state party platform

♦️ Supporting progressive candidates for DNC membership and endorsements

♦️ Lean on current DNC members to support party reforms (ex. Unity Reform Commission)

♦️ Helping progressive candidates in our district

This system stays in place only because good people do nothing to try to change it. Support the progressive change we need to transform the leadership of Illinois.

For those running for Precinct Committeewhatsit, there's only a little more than a month left to collect signatures to get on the ballot. Becoming an elected PC for your precinct is easy, and it lets you vote for the officers of the county and township party organizations next spring, appoint and certify election judges next summer, and more. This chance only comes once every two years, so don't miss out. If you need forms and/or a voter list for your precinct, just ask.

Our ...candidates also need signatures, and most voters will sign multiple pages as easily as one. Please consider collecting for our candidates as you get your own signatures. You can find lists of people running in our area at http://www.yorkdemocrats.org/elections.php . We have petition forms for many of them and others can be obtained directly from the respective campaigns. The Republicans would love to kick our candidates off the ballot so they can win by default and not have to be accountable to the public. Please help us make sure that doesn't happen.

Don't forget our meeting tonight, 7:30 at the log cabin. If you can, please bring supplies for hurricane/flood relief in Texas. Trucks will be leaving this week.

The YTDO is an all-volunteer organization. Absolutely no one in the group gets paid. We do not have any job openings. Please do not submit job applications to us.

As many of you know, the Cadillac Auto Mechanics are on strike around our neighborhoods. I encourage you to offer them support, either in the form of car honks, coffee, or stopping by just to thank them as our Unions fight for all of middle America.
