"We are saddened by the news today that our Compadre, Dusty Hill, has passed away in his sleep at home in Houston, TX. We, along with legions of ZZ Top fans around the world, will miss your steadfast presence, your good nature and enduring commitment to providing that monumental bottom to the ‘Top'. We will forever be connected to that "Blues Shuffle in C.”
You will be missed greatly, amigo.

Thank you Mr. Dusty Hill for first bringing that Blues Shuffle that could swing, rock, and hit hard to our Mississippi household growing up! As ZZ Top’s dedicated & most faithful fan, our Dad first dropped Tres Hombre on us in the 80’s and we’ve rocked ever since! Katherine Grace Gibbs rest easy.

So sad to hear this. I remember walking along the road with my sister and brother-in-law and their dog on Galveston Bay when we had the opportunity to meet you as y’all were building a house right down the road. What memorable music that you made… Thank you for that gift.

In the 80’s, my dad was on the ferry over to Bolivar when he saw some really cool guys and offered them a beer. They sat on the tailgate and talked and by the end of the ride over they told dad here take this stuff to your kids and y’all come to our concert tonight! When dad pulled up to the beach house and told all the kids about these cool guys and showed us all the autographed memorabilia they gave him everyone screamed with excitement!!! Such wonderful memories Dad and ZZ Top!!!

I knew Dusty hill when he first çame to fort worth back in the sixies when he and Rocky Hill called their band the American blue's, their hair was the collar blue I sat with Dusty Hill one night, in the cellar club in Fort Worth and we talked, and I asked him if it was ok to be a quite person and he said, slince is golden, and I sat with him in a restaur ent and ate. He was a very nice genitalman.

My condolences, last time I saw him on your 50th tournee at Helsinki two years ago.
Dusty has now left the building, but his legacy and music lives.❤

This is awful news. I’m gutted. So glad I saw him and ZZ Top 4 years ago in Glasgow. They were awesome. The end of a truly magnificent band, true legends an Dusty was a part of that. RIP Dusty 😢

As a fellow Texan, I’ve always been a HUGE fan of ZZ Top. My dad Doug loved ZZ so I was raised listening to ZZ my whole life. So saddened by the loss of one of the most solid blues bassist of all time. R.I.P Dusty… Thank you for all your inspiration and amazing music throughout the years. You will be greatly missed.
